Trevor Says It's the Best Card Ever

Hi friends! it's the start of a new week and today I'm sharing a fun little astronaut card I created.

I love this sweet new Over the Moon stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I thought it would be perfect for a boy birthday card, so got to work creating a galaxy background with reactive and distress oxide inks. I had previously cut and colored the images using blues and greens, so I went with these same colors for my galaxy.

I really wanted this little astroboy to stand out, so I decided to create a dark background for him.  I started with dark grey cardstock cut with a scallop circle die and then splattered watered down black and white acrylic paints on it.  I then sponged around the edges with black soot ink and layered my images on, tucking the flag in his hand and a few stars around him.

I then popped this up on foam tape over my galaxy background and tucked in a couple planets as accents.  I finished with a happy birthday sentiment, using the happy from Cheerful Hexies and the birthday from By the Sea. These are embossed in white and then everything is adhered to a white card base.

Funny story, when I was editing the photos for this post, Trevor walked in and his jaw dropped.
T: "Mom, is that a CARD???"
Me: "Yes."
T: "Woah, that's THE best card I've EVER seen! Hey Dad, did you see this card? It gets like INFINITY paws up!" 😂
And my heart melts. Guess I nailed the 7 year old boy birthday card genre!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you're having a fabulous start to your week!

Oh, my gosh, Julee, that is one of the sweetest things anyone could say about a creation! Coming from a 7 year old had made it extra special. I'm smiling. Very cute card; your black bg makes him stand out so well. Love the splatters everywhere~
