With Thoughts and Prayers

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a shimmery little card using the June Stamp of the Month from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Happy Irises is available as a free gift with a $75 order through the end of June.

I've been trying to play along with The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge, but haven't shared too much of what I've been coloring, since I'm working ahead for a few releases. This little beauty got colored back on Day 3, but I'm just now finding time to post it. One of my favorite things to do with an image is color with Copic markers and then paint over it with Shimmerz paints. It adds an amazing shimmer to the project!

So here, I colored the large iris from Happy Irises with Copic markers, then painted over the petals with Bumbly Bee Shimmerz and the leaves with Celery Shimmerz.  Look at the sparkle...

Sigh. Shimmery goodness, right? Next I went to work on the background, painting a wash of L'il Yellow Skool Bus Coloringz and Bumbly Bee Shimmerz for a warm, sunny background. I stamped the sentiment from Mason Jar Bouquet on a white die cut circle, then I laid it down, and splattered with L'il Yellow Skool Bus, Bumbly Bee and Mango Tango to bring in some of that red.

I lifted the iris up on foam tape for a little dimension, then finished up with some tattered edges.
