Pink Poinsettia

Hi friends! Today I had the privelege of being part of another Product Focus at Splitcoaststampers. This month we're reviewing the Spectrum Noir line from Crafter's Companion. And oh boy, did they send a box of goodies! Today I'll be sharing a card I made with the Spectrun Noir Glitz and Glamour Sparkle brush and Sparkle glitter inks. Head over to Splitcoaststampers for the full product review.

Since I love all that sparkles, I couldn't wait to test out the Sparkle brushes. They're super shimmery and the color is so vivid. For this card I used Pink Garnet. The stamp is the beautiful, large poinsettia image from Poinsettia Greetings. This set is the November stamp of the month at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. That means you can get this set (a $21.95 value) for FREE with a $75 order during the month of November. Now that's a fabulous deal! And I seriously can't get enough of this flower!

I stamped the poinsettia twice in black ink and then started coloring with the sparkle pen directly on the stamped image, planning to blend it out with a waterbrush. Well, like I said the color is vibrant. Spectrum Noir has a whole range of colors including pastels, but his particular color is luxuriously intense pink!  I tried to  blend it out with water, but I already had too much color. So I pulled out the matching glitter ink and watered it down some to help with blending it out.  Since I already had so much color down, I decided to make the best of it and go for a dark underlayer and then stamp another poinsettia for the inner portion. I love the way it stands out. For the inner flower I brushed the pen on a palette, then picked up with a waterbrush to paint it on.  Love the soft look to it.  I then fussy cut the two images, popping the inner flower up on foam tape and grabbed some of the Spectrum Noir metallic liquid inks to do a little splattering.  I used the silver metallic ink over the flower, adding a little extra dots with the ink and a stylus for the flower center  Then I grabbed a card base and splattered some black ink.

The sentiment from the set is embossed in white on black. I just love how it fits across the whole card! I splattered it with white paint and then glued it all together. Such a fun card to make and I absolutely love the sparkle, which I couldn't really capture in the photos.
