Christmas Love

Hi friends! It's finally Friday! I seriously can't wait to spend a week with the kiddos without homework! I never had homework as a kid, but this year's teacher is into busy work upon busy work. You can't just have a spelling list. You need to write definitions for all the words, illustrate all the words, and COLOR all the words. Now, I LOVE art, but I'd much rather be cuddled up with my boys reading a good book than spending any time at all with them stressed out about how to draw words like Native American, musket, and colony. If they can spell it and use it in a sentence, that should be enough. I don't understand why teachers don't let kids just be kids at home. They spend all day challenging their little brains and need a break! Okay, I'll get off my little soapbox and get on with the card.  😄

There's a new group of five fabulous sets on sale TODAY ONLY for a very special price. After combined discounts, these sets are just $10.56 each. Today I'm featuring the Filigree Hearts set on this Christmas card.

I started by embossing the holy family image from Adore Him on smooth bristol cardstock and then masking.  I then laid down the heart stamps from the set around the masked image and picked them up with my MISTI door and then embossed them all together in white.  Next I pulled out some distress oxides, and blended from light to dark starting with squeezed lemonade, then tumbled glass, then stormy sky, then chipped sapphire.  I wiped the embossed parts off for the resist, then splattered with water and some white glimmer metallic ink.

I colored the image with Copic markers and then embossed the Christ the Lord is born this day sentiment from Christmas Wordfetti onto a sentiment banner die cut.  I then popped this up over two little banner tails I had cut in black and finished the card. Love the dreamy, celestial feel to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out all the Friday Features in the Sweet 'n Sassy stamps shop today!
