I pulled out some Shimmerz paints to do some stenciling, starting with Chocolate & Diamonds Inklingz and stenciled the deer onto watercolor paper. To use these paints with stencils, I like to paint a little bit onto a glass mat, then pick up the paint with a mini blending tool and pounce onto the stencil. That way it's less moisture all at once, and you don't get the seepage you sometimes do when just painting directly on a bumpy surface like watercolor paper. I then traced around the stencil on post it note paper and fussy cut masks for the deer. Then I repeated the same process with the birch stencil, this time using Colder than Ice Shimmerz.
I loved the frosty peaceful look of the scene so much that I didn't want to cover any of it up. So I pulled out the Peace Love Joy Die and cut it, cutting off the love and joy so just the peace remained. I painted this with Steely Blue Eyes Inklingz and then popped it up on foam dots for a bit of dimension.
Overall, a simple card, but the shimmer makes it magical! I hope you've enjoyed this project. As always, if you're inspired to shop in the Shimmerz shop, add my name, in the comments for a free paint!
