Coloring Fun

Hi friends! Happy Friday! It's the beginning of the last weekend of summer break for us. I can't believe how fast/slow/fast/endless this summer has been! LOL We're starting virtually on Monday, and with the current case count it will most likely be quite some time (if at all) before in person learning is available here. We did get to meet our teacher in person (all masked up) and pick up materials yesterday and are excited for our very small class (only 11 kids, including our 2 boys)!

It's kind of surreal seeing my once Verve shipping office turned into a school room. Who would have thought we'd end up here? But we're as ready as we're going to get. LOL

With back to school on my mind, fall isn't far behind. I was so excited when I saw this super cute Autumn Gnome Digi from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (it releases today). I pulled out my Copics and got right to work coloring him up. I've never really been a fan of my coloring, but I have been putting in lots of effort and practice these past few months and I think it's paying off. I'm super proud of how this little gnome turned out.

After coloring, I die cut with a circle die, then sponged around the edges with antique linen and vintage photo distress inks.  I did the same with the sentiment, which is from the Happy Scarecrow Digi (it's also available in the Happy Scarecrow stamp set, I just don't have that set). These are matted with crumb cake cardstock, sponged with the same inks.  I grabbed a few autumn papers to complete the layout, then decided it needed some leaves.

I found some Impression Obsession leaf dies in my stash and cut them from white cardstock and then colored with Copics. All in all, a super fun card to create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic start to your weekend!

I love how your card turned out and think the layout is super. School starts here, with virtual classrooms, next Monday the 24th. I'm hoping it goes well for your sons. I know my grandchildren are disappointed that school can't start in person here.

Wonderful card Julee, and fabulous colours and colouring! All the best with the schooling - our schools are currently open apart from Auckland (N.Z.) where there has been a fresh outbreak...
Stay safe
Blessings

Hi Julee,
I am waiting for the videos prepared for my remote learning classes to upload and decided to visit a blog or two....yep, the uploads are that slow.
I love your cards and your schoolroom is beyond precious. Praying for you and the twins; so glad you can stay home and be safe! Is that a divider between the littles? Makes my teacher heart smile to see this set up. This will be a treasured memory someday!
