Endless Echoes

Wow!  Our release party last night was so much fun and I'm still kind of on cloud nine, partly from a fabulous release and also because of  this news that Susan's husband Eric is cancer-free and in remission!  Now that's something to celebrate, I tell ya!

I'm going to be busy packing orders for many days to come, so I thought I'd change up the scenery before I forget.  This is one of my favorite cards I've made in a long time and it uses a new set called Kind Words.  The title of the set comes from this Mother Teresa quote..

"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."

Isn't that just a beautiful quote? It's so true that kind words ring in your ears long after they are spoken, often coming to mind just when you need them the most.

So I just had to use this quote as soon as this set arrived.  This card was actually my inspiration for one of the Anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges - I just loved how the layout came together and had to turn it into a sketch.  I picked up some Jillibean Soup paper at the craft store a while back and just fell in love, so that's basically all the paper on the card, plus a little kraft.  I wanted a shabby feel to my card, so I added a little stitching and distressing.  The sentiment is stamped directly onto the ledger paper and the flower silhouette is inked up with bashful blue ink, then I just took an old olive marker to the stem and spritzed the stamp with water before stamping for a watercolor effect.  Then I used my air art tool with a Crumb Cake marker to add a little "dirt".  I finished off with some bitty buttons, backed with coordinating paper and tied with linen thread, plus a bit of vintage lace.

Okey dokey, I better get back to work.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hope your day is filled with kind words!

Love this sentiment Julee and I love all of the things you created this beautiful card with! The stitching and lace, the colours and the "dirt", such special touches. Thanks for a great party, a wonderful prize AND I loved that the sketch challenges were all on one sheet. That was truly a gift for me to create from. You always make things so easy for us!
Thanks again :)

Classic Julee gorgeousness! That sentiment is beyond fabulous and your card high lights it wonderfully.

You pulled a quick on on my by changing the start time - my chlorinated brain didn't register the switch LOL! Just went back and read through the thread to catch all the fun.

Think this is one of my all time favorite releases - can you guess why?? LOL!! Not one, but three sets with flowers in them...oh sigh.....I'm in Verve flower heaven!!! Hope the border doesn't suck them into their black hole and they get here fairly quickly. Was so tired last night I totally forgot about the new PO Box I have in Blaine, WA! Next time LOL!

Hope you had a good dinner out and aren't running too low on sleep. I'm sure you will be making the Post Office very happy with all your packages and you may very well sell out on some of these amazing sets (hope so!!). The Divas and Guest Divas had some beyond gorgeous samples and it was great to cheer on Maureen :)

Have Mark give you a big (((hug))) from me and promise me you'll take a few breaks along the way (said in my best mommy voice).

I can definitely tell why this is a favorite. That paper is so yummy! It seems silly, but I think my favorite part (or parts, lol) are that brown strip and the buttons with twine. It's the little things that make me happy.

Thanks so much for such a fun party last night! You have truly designed some AMAZING stamps this month and I can't wait to get my sets all inked up!!! Do try to have fun packaging them all. :)

I knew there was a reason I was following your blog...for awesome cards like this! Sigh...I wish I could create gorgeous cards like you. This one is so beautiful.

How do you look at all those different papers and trim them so they look balanced and coordinated?

And the stamps and techniques you use are simply divine.

I'm in love with this card!
