Happy Monday Everyone! Thanks to everyone who played along last week. I've been so incredibly busy I haven't had a chance to comment on everyone's cards yet, but I promise I'll get to them. I hope you're ready for another week of mojo. This week is a simpler layout, but I thought it was a lot of fun.
To play along, just make a card using the provided sketch and leave a comment on this post with a link to a photo of your creation. There is no time limit - you can play any week at any time. If you happen to upload to SCS, please use keyword Mojo58 so we can see everyone's mojoliciousness all in one happy place.
My sample card uses the new Fright Night set from The Cat's Pajamas as well as a sentiment and flame from Havin' a Pow Wow. I started by stamping the cauldron and coloring the flames with Copic markers. Next I stamped the owl, colored with Copics and cut him out to perch him on the cauldron. I used my paper piercer to pierce a little border around the panel and then matted on black cardstock. The patterned paper is from the BasicGrey Ambrosia Collection, which I matted on black and adhered to the the white card base, piercing a line above and below the panel. Next I cut a circle with my Classic Circle Nestabilities, stamped the Sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black and then stamped just the tip of the campfire from the same Havin' a Pow Wow set. I finished with some Stickles on the flames, some Diamond Glaze on the owl's eyes and a black grosgrain knotted bow.
Just a couple things to mention going on at Verve this week. There's still time to do the Vintage Verve challenge over on the OCC. There's your choice of any Verve stamp set up for grabs, and you have until Friday to get your cards in, so be sure and give it a go. Also, the Think Pink Sale is in full swing. All Verve stamps are 10% off through October 31, plus we're donating 10% of all sales to the Susan G Komen for the Cure foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This blog is for personal inspiration only and all projects are my original designs unless otherwise stated. I own Verve Stamps and have received products and materials to work with from several generous companies over the years. While I have received free products from these companies, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of their products. I will never recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.
