You Are So Lovely

Hi friends! Happy Friday. Today is the start of the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I had a blast hopping along to all the company blogs and entering their giveaways. So I thought I'd pop in with a card featuring products from one of the sponsors, Not 2 Shabby Shop.

This is actually the first card I made featuring products from their Cottage Charm Spring Quarterly release. It had been a while since I created in a vintage style, and the card ended up being a little darker than I had envisioned. I set it aside since I wasn't super into it, but it's grown on me during the past month, so I thought I'd share it today.

I started with the gorgeous Cherry Blossoms Background, stamping in a grey Versafine Clair ink, then watercoloring with Zig markers and adding a bunch of splatters.  I sponged around the edges with Old Paper distress ink, which is where I think things went a bit darker, because I usually reach for antique linen. But sometimes you have to experiment, right?  I distressed the edges and matted with a gold foil cardstock, which I also distressed.

Next I pulled out the Cup of Tea stamp set. I embossed the sentiment in gold onto a square die cut, then aged a tag die cut, adding a bit of gold and some splatters. I then stamped the tea cup with the butte4rfly on it, watercolored and cut with the coordinating Cup of Tea Dies. I then selected a few ephemera pieces from the Beautiful Blossoms Ephemera and added some watercoloring to the orignial coloring to make the flowers match the pinks in the background. I sponged around the edges with more Old Paper ink and then finished off with a scrap of lace behind my collage of elements.
