Taste and See

Hi friends! I'm popping in today with a little coffee loving goodness in slimline form. This one is a mash-up of several sets from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. They have a sitewide sale going on through May 31, so if you're in the mood to shop, be sure to head over there.

Y'all know I love coffee, so this card started with the big java cup from I Like Big Cups. I colored it with Copics, then used the Texture Tiles 8 set to stamp a design on the java jacket and fussy cut and glued together.

Next I pulled out the macaroons from the Vintage Romance set. These were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut. I then stamped the taste and see verse from the Faith Quote Blocks set and colored in the LORD portion. Since I wanted to do a landscape slimline, I cut off the second portion of the verse, then matted with black cardstock.  A strip of patterned paper and a black mat are the backdrop to finish up my little coffee break card.

Well, that's all from me today. I hope you have a fantastic start to your weekend!

Light it Up

Hi friends! I'm popping in today with a little mid-week inspiration. May is always such a busy month with all sorts of end of year projects, activities, and celebrations. This year seems more hectic than most, but maybe that's because last year was 2020 and there was nothing going on. Haha! Anyhow, this is the time of year by necessity my crafting usually turns to a clean & simple style. So my card today has lots of white and lots of bright!

The Count Your Rainbows set seemed like the perfect start for not only a clean & simple design, but also for the rainbow color challenge  in our VIP Facebook group this month. If you haven't played along, there's a prize up for grabs if you enter by May 31. All the details are in the group.

I started by stamping the larger rainbow image and the sun in black ink, then lining up the stitched rainbow lines and stamping over the rainbow.  I then colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating Count Your Rainbows Die Set.  The cloud was stamped in two shades of purple ink, then die cut.

For the sentiment, I thought the you light up my life phrase from My Punny Valentine (on sale this week) went well with the images, so stamped and cut in a circle.  I finished off with a background panel embossed with a rays folder for some texture, then layered up my die cut images on different levels of foam tape for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monday 560

Hi friends! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch. This will be the final Mojo sketch for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure when or if I'll be back to sketches, but I do need to take a break for a while. Life is pulling me in all sorts of directions now that we're fully vaccinated and life is starting to get back to it's pre-2020 pace. I have enjoyed seeing all your creations and hope you'll continue to use my past sketches as inspiration.

As always, we're playing just for fun. I'm an equal opportunity stamper, so feel free to use any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on May 31, 2021. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs, and never worry about substituting a shape or layer.

For today's sketch I went with a slimline design. I didn't really follow my sketch very literally, but I just couldn't fit the circle in with the sentiment I wanted to use. You got to do what works, right? I used the Walk By Faith set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This set and all  Rebecca Rios Designs sets are 25% off through May 20. Below are a few of my favorite cards with sets Rebecca has designed.

I started by stamping the eyeglass image from the set  repeatedly in rainbow colors. I then used the pink, yellow, and orange inks and my MISTI to stamp a blend from pink to orange with the faith stamp.  The other part of the sentiment is stamped in black, then I layered both panels on black cardstock, popping the eyeglass panel up on a foam sheet and adding a little shading with a copic marker and a black pen. I also added a little shadow to the faith sentiment. All of this is layered onto a colorful diagonal stripe paper and then added to a 3.5" x 8.5" slimline card base.

This fits the rainbow color challenge over in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps VIP Facebook group as well. We'd love to have you join us over there!

Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you've been inspired to create something with this sketch. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Coffee Loving Rainbows

Hi friends! I'm popping in with a just for fun card I made. Erin Lee Creative started a new monthly challenge in their Facebook Inspiration group and this month the challenge is rainbows. Since I just happened to have received an order from them, I couldn't wait to play along!

As you might know, I'm a sucker for coffee stamps, and since their Coffee Lover Kit is currently in their sale category at 50% off with code APRIL50, I just had to click the buy button! LOL And what a deal... you get a 6 x 8" stamp set with coordinating dies, a 3x 4" stamp set, a stand-alone die and two 6 x 6" stencils! Here I used the image from the smaller stamp set, and colored in rainbow-ish colors pink, yellow, blue, and green on the leaves.  The coffee lover stamp is part of the large stamp set and I set it up in my MISTI and stamped with pink, yellow, and blue inks, overlapping colors so I could pull out a little orange and green to complete my rainbow theme. I cut this with the coordinating heart die. The background is done with one of the stencils in the kit, then I splattered the same ink colors around the edges.  To tie it all together I used a die cut brick wall from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Coffee Loving Sunshine

Hi friends! I'm super excited to be guest designing over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog today! I'm sharing two coffee loving cards featuring Super Sponsors I've placed my first orders with in the past couple months.

First up is an adorable stamp set from Newton's Nook. I have long admired their sweet stamps, and just had to give them a try during their WCMD sale. Love their stamps!  The illustration style is so cute, and who can go wrong with cats and coffee? I began by stamping Newton and his cuppa and the three other cups from the Newton Loves Coffee set in copic safe ink and colored with Copics. I fussy cut each one and layered them together to create a little scene, then masked off a floor with tape and blended some brown distress inks.

I then moved the tape to cover the floor and used the Roundabout Stencil from Taylored Expressions, first in salvaged patina, then turned the stencil a quarter turn and stenciled with twisted citron. I turned one more quarter turn and used salvaged patina to achieve the color I wanted. I think it looks like a fun wallpaper design. The sentiment cracks me up and is exactly what I envision my cat Moka is saying to me when she rubs up against me while my coffee is brewing. I stamped the coffee bean stamp below it several times and then layered everything together.

Next up is Whimsy Stamps.  I received a gift card there as a prize from the last coffee hop and I may have purchased an armful of stamps extra!  Love all their sweet gnome images!  But on the coffee front, I adore this smiling iced coffee image from the Cool Beans set!  Isn't his smile great? I colored him up with Copics, then fussy cut and popped up with foam tape. Next I grabbed a panel of white cardstock and the Taylored Expressions Sunray Mini Slim Stencil and stenciled with squeezed lemonade and mustard seed distress inks. I finished with a sweet sentiment from the Beaucoup Bouquet Sentiments set that I thought perfectly fit with this happy little cuppa!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog for all sorts of coffee loving inspiration and events.

Pretty Potted Florals and a Hop

Hi friends! Instead of our usual mid-month Blog Hop at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, this month we're putting on our first Instagram Hop! Be sure to head on over to Instagram and leave some comments for the designers for a chance to win a $25 gift code to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps online shop. The beginning of the hop and all the details can be found here:  https://www.instagram.com/sweetnsassystamps/

Along the hop, we're playing with a something old, something new theme. I am sharing this card which features one of my very first Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps purchases, Thoughtful Words, and my newest purchase... Pretty Potted Florals.  Both of these sets are illustrated by NinaB Designs and all of her sets are on sale this week! This sales graphic has a few of my favorite cards featuring her stamps.

I started by stamping one of the potted flowers in Versafine Clair ink and then coloring with Zig Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a blender pen. I then stamped just the flower portion again and colored just the inner flower and fussy cut to pop up for some dimension on the stamped image.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Words set, and I stamped onto a circle that I stenciled with the Delightfully Delicate Stencil and salvaged patina distress ink.  Some patterned papers from my stash finished things off.

While I was at it, I decided to make another card with Pretty Potted Florals.  This time I attempted  watercoloring with watercolor pans.  I'm a little out of practice and was way too heavy with my paints, so ended up blending out with watercolor markers, then adding some Copic highlights to add some depth.  I fussy cut the image and placed onto a panel I had used to wipe up some salvaged patina ink, then finished off with a sentiment from one of my all-time favorite sentiment sets... My Thoughts of You.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll join us over on Instagram for the hop!

Reverse Confetti 8th Birthday Release Hop

Hey friends! It's time to celebrate with Reverse Confetti! I'm so excited to be joining the celebration for their 8th birthday release. It's a spectacular release, filled with six new stamp sets, 9 new confetti cuts, and even a limited time FREE set with a qualifying purchase! Woohoo! Join us along the hop for some awesome inspiration with all the new goodies. If you've been hopping along, you just saw an amazing creation from Ali Farmer. After this stop, you'll be heading over to be wowed by Jeanne Jachna. The full hop list is at the bottom of this post. I have a couple of projects to share today, so grab a cuppa something awesome and hop along.

I absolutely love balloons, so my little crafty heart perked up when I saw the new Beautiful Balloons set. Such a beautiful set with separate pieces for the balloons, strings, and flowers. And with coordinating confetti cuts, it's a breeze to cut them all out and assemble a balloon bouquet. Here I colored the balloon with flowers image with Copic markers and die cut along with one of the string images.  The background for the card was so easy with the new Oval Window Cover Panel Confetti Cuts. I cut the cover panel from polar white, grape soda, and iced aqua card stock, nesting the three pieces together and blending a little iced aqua in the center oval. I then stamped the birthday wishes sentiment, hand trimmed, and embellished with a few enamel dots.

For my card, I stamped the Hooray and So Happy For You sentiments from Hooray on white cardstock, then masked off the bottom of the O in hooray and stamped the balloon string from Beautiful Balloons.  I then colored the hooray with Copic markers, as well as the plain balloon image. I added a little texture with glimmer paste and a confetti stencil, then layered the die cut balloon a few times and added it to the panel.  This is matted with RC aqua cardstock, then a couple of strips of patterned paper down the side finish things off.

I continued with the same color scheme for the next card, coloring the flower image from Beautiful Balloons a couple times and then die cutting.  I stamped the let's celebrate you sentiment from the same set in the center of a card panel, then added a few die cut layers of the oval frame from the Oval Window Cover Panel Confetti Cuts.  I placed the two flower images in opposite corners, then added some nuvo drops around the frame for accent.

For my final card, I went for a folk art look.  I cut the Oval Window Cover Panel from mist cardstock, then stamped the flower image from Beautiful Balloons in opposite corners with baby blue ink.  I then
stamped the plain balloon three times on mist cardstock, stamping the flowers in navy in the center.  I then cut out by hand and inked with navy and baby blue inks, adding white gel pen accents to make the images stand out.

I layered these balloons over the window opening on different dimensional heights, then added the strings and popped the panel up on a white card base with foam tape.  I finished with the Oh, happy day! sentiment from the Hooray set.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me! Be sure to check out what everyone else on the hop is sharing today. And if I inspired you to shop, I'd love it if you'd use my affiliate links, for which I receive a small commission when you place an order, at no additional cost to you.

Blessed

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in with a fun mixed media card with my Favorite Mom DIGITAL Set

I started by coating a piece of heavy white cardstock with gesso. Next I sponged on picked raspberry, worn lipstick and seedless preserves distress oxides and spritzed and dried and spritzed some more.  Then I dipped a baby wipe in some funky fuchsia paint and dabbed on, repeating until I got the depth I wanted.

The sentiment and flower are printed from the Favorite Mom DIGITAL Set and I colored the flowers and leaves with Copics, then fussy cut and added some white gel pen accents.  I framed the sentiment with a doily die cut, then cut down my background panel and added a black mat.  A diagonal stripes embossing folder finishes things off.

Customer appreciation month continues at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and this week we're celebrating with a 25% off sale on sets illustrated by NinaB Designs.  Here's a little sampling of some of my favorite cards using her sets. Hurry in, sale is valid through May 13, 2021, while supplies last.

For today's card I printed out my new Favorite Mom Digi set that just released with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. You might recognize the digi, as it was one I released with Verve back in 2016.  I made a few tweaks to the flowers and such, and am so excited to work with these images and sentiments again!  I colored the cup and flower image with Copic markers, then fussy cut.

The pink background was designer paper and I added a subtle tone on tone background with picked raspberry distress oxide and the Delightfully Delicate Stencil Some square dies , more patterned paper and a teeny border strip finish things off.

I hope you'll pop on over to the SNSS store to check out my digi. There's also a fabulous Buy 2 Get 1 FREE sale  on Jennifer Nilsson Art stamp sets through May 6! Here are a few of the cards I've created with her awesome sets...
