The Beautiful Everyday

Hi friends! It's Thanksgiving morning here and I'm enjoying my first real holiday without a business to run. It's nice just being on the shopping end of all the bargains, instead of trying to juggle cookie making and holiday prep with updating a website, answering emails, creating and sending out marketing blasts and shipping orders. Kudos to all the small business owners out there! Your hard work is appreciated!

So this morning, unlike any Thanksgiving in the past 11 years, I have a little extra time. So I'm popping in with a little thank you card I made with the supplies that were still on my desk from my Happy Everything card a few days back. I'm trying to make a conscious effort to try to use up as many scraps as I can when I cut into a new sheet of paper. And I definitely didn't want to let any of this beautiful paper from the Cue the Confetti pad go to waste!

For this card, I embossed the Cotton & Thistles image in white satin pearl embossing powder on vellum. I then colored the back side of the vellum with Copic markers and adhered to white cardstock before cutting out with the Cotton & Thistles Confetti Cuts.  I used the same technique with the jar image, just layering the flowers in between the vellum and the white cardstock.

Next I pulled out the The Most Beauty set and selected the there is something beautiful in every day sentiment. I thought it would make a great thank you card. I originally embossed it with the satin pearl embossing powder on vellum to pop over the aqua circle, but unfortunately you could only read the sentiment when the card was lying flat. Sigh. So I decided to give up on the soft ethereal approach and bring in some black mats and emboss the sentiment in black.  I embellished with a Hero Arts  Decorative Edge Fancy die cut border and then added a bit of ribbon to finish off this tall & skinny card.

If you're in the mood for some Black Friday savings, Reverse Confetti has an awesome promo. Use code BLACK25 for 25% off your order through 11/25.

I love this Julee - the contrast in the paper colours echoed in the flowers is perfect.
