A Quick Card

The card for today is a quickie. And I really mean a quickie! I am by no means a speedy stamper. I agonize for hours (as Cindy can attest) over all the details on my cards. But I sat down specifically to make something FAST. And I DID! The entire card was stamped, designed and completed in under 15 minutes, probably a record for me!

I started by stamping Tree of Love{E-4203} from The Cat's Pajamas in Timber Brown Stazon on Very Vanilla. Next I punched it out with a Marvy Super Jumbo Circle Punch, pierced holes around the edges and did faux stitching with a Chocolate Chip Marker. Then I distressed the edges with my Tonic paper distresser and inked up the edges with a sponge and Chocolate Chip ink. I colored in the hearts on the tree with my turquoise Stardust pen and matted on a Paper Accents aqua mega scalloped circle and a chocolate chip giga scalloped circle. Next I cut a piece of Tres Jolie paper by My Mind's Eye and stitched and pierced around the edges using my paper piercer and Mat Pack. Then I used my Chocolate Chip marker to complete the faux stitching and distressed the edges. Then I tied a knot in an brown American Craft ribbon and wrapped around the paper, securing to the back with Terrifically Tacky Tape. To finish and make this a true "Quickie" card I used my Quickie Glue pen to trace over the hearts and the piercings on the aqua scallop and then covered with Dazzling Diamonds. The finished card measures 4 1/8" square.

Guess what? I was featured on the Craft Critique Altered Projects Carnival yesterday. I always see the carnival themes and think I should submit something and then I forget about it until I see the next one is posted! LOL! Well, this time I didn't have that excuse, since sweet little Colleen over at Distinctive Touches went and submitted my blogged projects for me! Thanks Colleen! There are some great links to altered projects, so check it out.

I received some happy mail this week and thought I would share. The first was a Blogger RAK from Karen (AKA Care-In), and it's such a happy little card! I love the DP (Chatterbox, I'm thinking) and the faux stitched stems of the flowers. Thanks Karen!
The second card is a gorgeous little number from Stampinselina. I absolutely love the popped up flowers with sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! Her doodled frame around the card is super cool too. Thanks so much Selina!

Hey I was thinking today that your comments all mean so much to me, but often I can't respond because I don't have your contact info. I'd love to be able to contact you and even send some cards out to everyone who makes my trip to the computer each morning such a fun thing. So if you feel like I'm cool enough to know where you live, please send me an email with your snail mail and email so I can keep in touch! And if any of you want (hint, hint) to send ME happy mail, feel free to email me and I'll hook you up with my addy. :)
