Simple Thanks and Blog Candy!

Hi friends!  As I was unpacking a few more boxes last night I came across a shoe box that had a bunch of items that were intended for blog candy many moons ago, but never got posted because of some family matters that came up and took over life as we knew it.  Anyhow, the lost has been found and it's time for a little blog candy from a few of my favorite companies.

But before I get to it, I've got a very simple card to share with you.  So simple!  It uses the Mariposa stack from DCWV, a scrap of La Creme paper, a sentiment stamp from Celebration of Thanks, a circle punch and a border punch.  That's it!  Really simple, but I just loved these papers and wanted them to take center stage!

Okay, on with the blog candy.   Just leave a comment here on this post telling me one thing you're thankful for as this new year begins.  The comment deadline to be eligible for the random drawing is Monday, January 9 at 8pm Mountain.  The winner will receive everything listed below (a $140+ value), all brand new and just waiting to be played with!

First up, a few fabulous CutUps dies from The Cat's Pajamas.
  • Heart Trio
  • Apron Strings
  • Cloud Border
And a couple of my favorite stamp sets from Waltzingmouse Stamps
A host of goodies from Pizzazz Aplenty
And two Spellbinders dies that have been hanging around since I ended up with duplicates

Julee, that is a lovely Thank you card. I love DCWV papers and can always find something fun to make from their stacks.
Hmmm, I need to put 2011 behind me. In Oct, Nov and Dec 2011, 5 people dear to me passed away. The hardest loss was my Father-in-law.
The one thing that I am thankful for as this New Year begins is that I still have my wonderful Mother (she will be 82yr) in my life.

First of all, a very happy new year to you! May it be the best yet!
Second, your card is stunning! So simple, yet so elegant. Absolutely beautiful!
And then, the candy! OH MY, what a fantastic candy!
I have to say, picking just one thing to be thankful for is hard! The obvious are of course family and friends, good health and a great hobby.
I'm thankful for sweet Verve that opened for shipping to Norway in the past year. ;)
But right now, I'm especially thankful for my darling husband who let me have my very own craft room in our house. I moved in right before christmas, he helped me set up with shelves and storage, and most importantly, he lets me spend time in there (almost) whenever I want! Gotta love him! <3 :)

I have lots to be thankful for New Year so just to name a few would be that my hubby and son were with me this season and made Christmas most memorable and New Years Eve party was a blast filled with laughter and oodles of fun... made ringing it in filled with hope and blessings.

Happy New Year Julee! Blessings to you and Mr. Verve. I'm in the major Thank You card making right now too, and this simple design is an awesome one I will use. Lovely card. I like when they come together easily and yet look so professional. And wowza!! What great blog candy. Thanks for the offer. I am thankful for so many things, including this wonderful hobby and all the great people whose stories I get to hear and share in a bit. But I guess I'm most thankful for the progress with my son. We've had so many behavioral issues with him, and have put in a lot of effort in getting him help and building his social skills. I love to see him thriving and making friends and fitting in. And I love that he still stands out, is unique and amazing, and shows his overwhelming potential to be and do so much in the world. He inspires me to be and do more.

OMW - your card is simply lovely. That butterfly peeking out of the corner and the striped ribbon, nice. I am thankful for my family this year. My DH job brought us to a new area after 17 years, when my son from CA came to visit over the holidays it was the first time this place really felt like home because family was all together in one place and I realized just how much I love each and every one of them. Thanks for the opportunity for some blog candy.

What a lovely blog you have. I found it while looking at Splitcoast. I have just discovered Verve and picked up their birds and a few sentiments.. What I am most thankful for this year is celebrating my first year of marriage to my husband. I lost my first one 5 years ago and thought my chance at happiness was over. But this shows you that second chances do happen and I am so blessed.

First off let me say that your card is stunnig as usual, you are an amazing artist! I am thankful for many things going into this new year, especially family. The most endearing is knowing that my mother is now cancer free. She was diagnost with lung cancer last spring and had surgery to remove half of her lung. I am extremely happy to say that this amazing woman who I call my best friend will still be blessing me with her kindness and unconditional love for many years to come! Love your card as always! 2011 was a blur and 2012 will be another challenging year. My dh & I have elderely parents who all require help on some level and last fall we moved my dad in with us. My dh, ds & dd have supported me in such a way that I don't know if I could express the depth of it through words. Usually young people, 23 & 17, are not even interested in "old folks" but my kids have served their grandfather in such a way that I am humbled to be their mom. Without their help and support there's no way I could do this and it is the love that has flowed out of this experience that has changed all of us forever. That is what I am grateful for!

Amidst the trials of the year, I was thankful for a faithful God who is my rock and my anchor as well as my peace and my joy.

Beginning 2012 I am thankful for a new year ahead and the opportunity of new beginnings (guess that has to include beginning a new decade in a few weeks - eeek!). Your card is absolutely gorgeous!! What a fun way to start the new year and bless someone with a fun creative package!! Thanks for the chance to win!

Starting last September our world seemed like it was falling apart. My Mom had a stroke, my mother-in-law was put in Hospice and then someone who is like a Dad to us had a massive stroke. There were two weeks we thought we'd lose both Mom's. our "Dad" was given 5 days to live. While we've had some loss as my Mother-in-law passed away we still have my Mom and our "Dad". I am so thankful that my Mom is doing better and our "Dad" is coming home this next week. I'm thankful for miracles! I'm thankful for family! I'm thankful for all the little steps that are taking place.

Blessings to you for 2012!

As for what I'm grateful for...it's SO hard to choose just one thing! As a matter of fact, my "one little word" is "grattitude". I guess I'm MOST grateful for my WONDERFUL and SUPPORTIVE family..but, on a more basic level, I'm SO grateful to have been one of the more fortunate people on Earth just being born in a developed country...here, we take SO much for granted that A LOT of other people just don't have...such as running water, food, medical care, etc...

Anyway, I wish you ALL the BEST in 2012!

I'm thankful that good things can come from what seems like utter distruction. During this last year I caught a cheating husband, got divorced, filed for bankruptcy, lost my house, moved from 2300 sq ft into a studio apartment, and totaled my car. All seemingly bad things but a new life has come from all of that. I'm happy. And I'm thankful.

It is incredible, you are always doing magic with simple things, sometimes I want to make a card, and I always think something complicate, but your design teaches me to think differently. Thanks for the chance to win the huge candy. In the year of 2011, I have met some many awesome people that otherwise I would never met, I have grown a team of partners to work together to achieve our goals,we are moving forward and supporting each other. I am so thankful that I am so blessed by this team.

Why am I thankful for 2012? I'm still vertical, not horizontal. Life is a daily gift. May God be in each person's heart.

This new year I am thankful that my husband found a job just before Christmas, that my family has been healthy and safe and we survived the 5 months of unemployment (and pray we don't have to do it ever again). Can you tell I am thankful- and even moreso for him!

Happy New Year!

Oh, my; so much to be thankful for, besides my beloved craft room! I am a senior in a 55+ community and everyday I am thankful for my relatively good health [except that darned arthritis]; I'm just so lucky to be able to help others in my community! At my age, that's a biggie! OH! And I'm also thankful for your blog candy, especially if I win it!

This new year I am thankful that life seems to be heading in the right direction - fingers crossed! The last three years have been a terrible struggle but finally myself and my extremely hard working man are moving towards the light it would seem and things are starting to go right :) Silly little things that most people take for granted are major achievements for us at the moment and we are cherishing every one :)

I hope you have a year filled with fun and happiness, I have no doubt that you will and I shall be here following your blog as always to hopefully share in your joy ;)

Wow, what amazing blog candy! You are definitely very generous!! I'm so thankful that I got to spend time with my immediate family the week following Christmas. My brother lives in Indiana, my sister in Ohio and my parents in New Hampshire so we don't see my siblings very often. It was a bit crazy at times with 8 adults and 3 young children in the same house for a week, but it is so special to spend time with people who have known you forever and love you anyway. : )

Because I have physical problems that cause a lot of pain and prevent me from getting out like I used to, I'm especially thankful for a hobby that takes my mind off of how I feel and puts the focus on making cards to tell friends how much I still care and scrapbook layouts with journaling to help my children and grandchildren to know what matters most in life.
