Verve Day Thursday

Happy Thursday!  A few weeks ago, Mercy started doing Verve Day Thursdays over on her blog, and I just really like the ring to that!  ;-)  I know, I know, most days are Verve days around here, but I still like the name!  :)

Every time I stamp recently, I'm drawn to this "Life is good" sentiment from Relax.  I put it in the set because it's something that I need reminding of all too often.  Sometimes it seems that the big rain clouds in our lives make everything look dark and stormy.  But we've only got one life to live and it's a GOOD one.  So I choose to enjoy it, to be happy, and to see the good in life, in other people and most importantly, in myself.

I was on the phone the other day with Laurie, arranging and re-arranging all the scraps on my desk, when I decided how nicely this red little 365 Degree flip pad shape looked with the black & white papers on my desk.  Isn't it just gorgeous?  I love the shape and the flourishes!  I can't wait to use more of them!  In fact I loved the pad so much I bought it twice - on 2 different occasions to the craft store!!!!  So I'm giving a whole little pad of these away along with some other paper goodies if you leave a comment on my Monday post this week.  I stamped directly on the flip pad shape and embossed in white, then hand cut a white mat and sponged both the white and red with black soot ink.

The main background is from the BasicGrey White Basics line and I used a Tim Holtz flourish mask on the top half and sponged around it with black soot.  Then I added a strip of Making Memories Wedding paper, with a little Iron Gate Martha Stewart border punch in black behind that.  Next I wrapped a little Melissa Frances lace around the main panel, then did a little distressing around the edges of the panels.

For the flower, I used two flower punches of red DP and curled and layered them, then added a white cameo prima in the center and arranged some QuicKutz flourish die cuts all around for a little backdrop.  Then I finished off with three little red rhinestones in one of the upper curves.

Okay, that's all for today!  Hope you have a spectacular Verve Day Thursday!  :)
