Vintage Flowers

Hey everybody! Last night I took a little time to play with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch for this week. Yep, I flipped the sketch again, I guess I can't follow directions. LOL! Since the sketch called for a flower, I knew I wanted to play some more with my new slice, so I pulled out the Noteworthy cartridge and cut a few flowers in different sizes to layer as an embellishment.

The paper I used is from the Black & Ivory Fusion collection by K & Company. Funny, I just realized I didn't use any of the black or ivory designs, just a pale plum and aqua. But I'm just in love with the designs in this collection (especially the black & ivory ones), so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it. All of my panels are inked with vintage Photo distress ink and I embossed the patterned paper with the Textile embossing folder and then lightly sanded with an emery board to make the texture stand out. Since everything was looking so vintage, I pulled out some Fancy pants lace wraps and wrapped around the card and tied a little bow in front. The flowers are layered on dimensionals and there's a Making Memories deco brad in the center. I painted some diamond glaze/glitter on the aqua flower for just a hint of sparkle and the sentiment is the Flowers of Tomorrow plain jane inked with Baja Breeze ink pad and then I went over the all caps text with a chocolate chip marker for a two-toned ink effect.

That's it for today, peeps. I hope you have a fabulous day. Oh, and the winners of the Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop are posted over on the Verve Blog this morning! Catch ya on the flipside!
