OCC Sketch Time!

Happy Saturday! It's time for another Our Creative Corner challenge, and this month I get to be the hostess! I'm starting the month off with my absolute favorite type of challenge - a sketch. And I'm so excited to have one of my stamping heroes, Alma de la Rosa, as our special guest. Alma is the creative genius behind The Cat's Pajamas and her swanky designs and fabulous stamps are such an inspiration to me - not to mention this woman has mad cardmaking skillz! She's generously donated two fantastic TCP sets (Elegant Christmas and Fairy Christmas) as a prize for this challenge, so be sure and check out the OCC for details on how to play along, as well as have a little droolfest over the cards from the rest of the OCC team.
My card for today uses the Elegant Christmas set from TCP and some awesome Marcella K. glitter paper from Target that Lynda's enabling totally convinced me to make a special trip just to buy some for myself. (Thanks Lynda!)
I started by cutting and embossing a Nestabilities Classic Square, then stamping the bells and the Joy stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black . I colored the bells with Copic markers and then added a little Diamond Glaze to the bells for some shine and set aside to dry.
Next I cut my mats alternating black and red glitter paper. The ribbon tabs use some May Arts ribbon scraps I had in my stash. Since I've been on a white space kick lately, I left the base layer white and embossed it with the Snowflake Cuttlebug folder. For my embellishment, I painted a clear Heidi Swapp snowflake with Angel Wings Shimmerz and then coated with glitter while it was still wet. I layered a Martha Stewart snowflake punched from the red glitter paper on top, and was done! I hope y'all play along this week. I'd love to see what you do with this sketch.
