Today's card is a cute little square card using this week's sketch challenge over on Papercraft Planet. I must say, this sketch almost beat me. I printed it out because I really liked the sample card, but then once I got to my desk, I realized that the front panel was supposed to be a sentiment. I had my heart set on using the pumpkin trio from Tall Oaks, but had to settle for the sentiment and cute little acorns.
I pulled out some Kraft paper and stamped the acorn in Chocolate Chip Kraft ink up and down the two sides of the square, then embossed with Clear EP. I colored them in with Copic markers and then stamped over the panel with the Linen background from SU! in Close to Cocoa. I finished the background by sponging the edges with Close to Cocoa.
For the sentiment panel, I cut and embossed a long rectangle with Nestabilities, then stamped the sentiment and embossed. I replaced the Nestabilities die over the panel, so it masked off the edges and I stamped the Linen background over the sentiment. The vertical strip of paper is from Daisy D's and I pierced holes down both sides. Everything is matted with chocolate chip. For the embellishment, I stamped, colored and cut out an acorn shape, then layered on top of two Prima velvety leaves. The card base is so saffron, and is 4.25" square.
This blog is for personal inspiration only and all projects are my original designs unless otherwise stated. I own Verve Stamps and have received products and materials to work with from several generous companies over the years. While I have received free products from these companies, I maintain the freedom as an independent designer to say what I truly think of their products. I will never recommend something that I don’t personally use and enjoy.
