Silhouette Hope

Hi everyone! I've been busy working on tax stuff (yuck!) the past few days, so haven't had much time in the studio. Today I was able to finish up a card I've been working on in 5 minute increments throughout the week! It uses the sketch Kimmie posted for her contest last week. Of course, I missed the contest deadline (which was Monday), but I just loved the sketch.

My color inspiration came from this Sassafrass Lass Indian Summer paper. I've been meaning to use the Stem Silhouettes stamp set I borrowed from Lila before Christmas, and just haven't had the time, so I figured I better bust out a card so I can return it to her. I started by stamping the flower in Versafine Smoky Gray ink on Classic Cream cardstock. Next I colored each of the blossoms with a red Spica Glitter pen and then outlined the entire stamp image with a light grey Tombow marker. I finished with a few little dots with my glitter pen in opposite corners and matted on Sahara Sand. The sentiment is made with the Wonderful Wishes Remixed set. I stamped the wishing you sentiment in Versafine Smoky Gray and the Hope word in Versafine Crimson Red ink. All layers are matted on Sahara sand and the card base measures 5.5" x 5.5" square. The ribbon is Chocolate Taffeta (love this stuff!) from SU!.

Okay, that's it for today, peeps. If you haven't been checking out the Verve Blog this week, you should head on over to see the fabulous projects our Guest Designers made with the new sets!
