Wow! Can you believe it's already June? Time is just flying by... seems like just yesterday I was starting this little ole blog, wondering if anyone would want to read my silly ramblings. Now I can't remember life before blogging!
I'm so excited that summer is on it's way! There's nothing as wonderful as stamping at 7:00pm with the sun still streaming on my face through my studio window! So last night, with sunlight bouncing off the walls, I read Beate's blog and saw the link she had to the Sketch This blog. I just knew I had to attempt their most recent sketch with some of the new Cat's Pajamas stamps.
I started by stamping Moon Doggy {F-7473} on White Conqueror card stock in Ancient Page Coal Black and then stamping Sand Pail {F-7469} around him to ground him a little. Next I colored the images in with Cool Caribbean, Brilliant Blue and So Saffron. Doesn't he just look too cool with his stylin' board? The designer paper is from the K & Company Happy Trails paper pad I got the other day. I can't believe yesterday's card and today's card were made from the same line of paper - this collection is just so versatile! So, back to the card... I matted the square on a Mega Scalloped Circle punch and pierced holes around the edges of all the patterned paper pieces.
Next I stamped Fun in The Sun {C-7465} in Coal Black on white card stock and colored in with Barely Banana reinker and an aquapen. I cut the circle out with my Creative Memories cutting system and then used the technique explained on Beate's blog for scalloped ovals to make a sun using my Fiskars Victorian decorative scissors. I then sponged the edges with So Saffron ink and glued down with a pop dot. I Cuttlebugged the main background piece with the D'Vine swirls embossing folder and lightly sanded to emphasize the swirls. I then glued all the pieces to a So Saffron card base and added some dots around the border with my Sakura Clear Glaze Pen.

great card! How fun to have swirls over the pattern!
It's hard to keep up with you. I want to comment on every card you post. So I had to have "Julee commenting day" today. This is so FUN!!! I love the pieces of paper "pierced" together and the cuttlebugging over the designer paper.
