Deck the Halls with Chameleon Fineliners

Hi friends! I'm back for my third post on the blog today. Busy, busy! If you're looking for one of the other posts, click the links below.

Alrighy, now on to another fun post...

I had the pleasure of participating in another Product Focus for Splitcoaststampers, featuring the new Chameleon Fineliners. These color blending fineliners took Kickstarter by storm and are now available for sale. They have changeable caps for loading up multiple colors on your pen and then blending as you write. They're pretty ingenious and made me want to doodle all the things! You can read the full Product Focus here. There are also links to a couple of online lettering and bullet journaling courses Chameleon is offering FREE to Splitcoaststampers members, so you'll definitely want to check it out.

For today's card, I tested out Zentangling with the fineliners. I love the variety of colors in the 24 pack I received for this review. This is the first Zentangle project I've ever done. I have carpal tunnel and usually too much time spent with a pen causes issues. But, I must say these pens wrote so smoothly I never felt like I needed to apply more pressure to get an even inking.  I had so much fun with them and my hand never felt fatigued.

I started with the open ornaments from Deck the Halls and a mix of the red and green pens, blending between colors here and there as I tangled my way through a fun mix of patterns. When I was finished coloring, I fussy cut them and then sponged with a little antique linen ink.

The holly and berry images were stamped in no line fadeout ink and then I used the fineliners to trace and color in..  I layered these all onto a block of patterned paper and then doodled some scallops all around. The sentiment is stamped in fired brick on a circle cut out and I framed with early espresso cardstock and edged with antique linen distress ink.

I love how smooth the ink flow is and had a lot of fun just playing around in my planner with the pens. The blends can give a whimsical look, and remind me of how much I loved my 10 color clickable pen back in my elementary days!
