Count it All Joy

Hi friends, I'm popping in today to share this *almost* one layer card I made with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I just love silhouette images, and SNSS has a ton of them, including the gorgeous Nature Silhouettes 1 that I used on this card! I really wanted to do a summery night sky with a field of wildflowers, so I pulled out a few Distress Oxides to blend a background.  I used stormy sky, chipped sapphire and faded jeans to blend the sky. Then I stamped the silhouette wildflowers in black hybrid ink across the bottom of the panel.

For a starry sky, I splattered on white paint, black acrylic ink and some pewter glimmer metallic inks. I love how the pewter really picks up the light and gives a nice depth with the the white paint. It's one of my favorite things to splatter with right now! 😀

The sentiment is from the Life & Lemons set and I LOVE it! I think I could put this sentiment on every card from here to eternity and never tire of it! Such a wonderful reminder to count your blessings instead of your woes. Here I decided to make it my moon, shining bright in the dark sky.  I cut it out with a circle die cut, then sponged with first squeezed lemonade and mustard seed distress oxide for a little more depth.

I finished off the card with a white card base. So simple and quick, but I love how it turned out! Quick enough that both of my boys stayed interested and engaged while I was making it. It was the first time they really showed any interest in watching me stamp!

In other news, I'm so honored to be the Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers this week! The challenge is to CASE a card (use the card as inspiration, but change at least 2 things to make it your own) from my SCS gallery and upload it to SCS with keyword FS646. I'd love it if you'd play along. Challenge details can be found here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Count it all joy, my friends! Hope you have a joyful start to your week.

You are so right! That is such a good sentiment & don't we all need that reminder now & then? I really like this card & the colours you used on it make the black images pop. Thanks.
