Tidings of Joy

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in with a fun card using a few of the October My Monthly Hero add-ons from Hero Arts. While the main kit is only available while supplies last (hurry to get yours!), the fabulous add-ons are here to stay.  And when I say fabulous, I do mean fabulous.

The shape of this ornament in the Ornament Tags Fancy Dies totally stole my heart and I had to immediately use it as soon as I opened my package. I cut the ornament from cherry cobbler cardstock, then embossed the two sentiments from the Peace, Love & Joy add-on in gold embossing powder. I am head over heels for this new set, and can't wait to find a little more time to really give this set a workout!

Next I stamped the beautiful Graphic Snowflake Bold Prints background in Versamark ink over all of it for a soft and subtle watermark effect.  I finished that part off with a bit of soft sand and cup of joe ink from the Kelly's Coffee & Donuts Ink Cubes pack for a little depth.

The papers are from the Carta Bella Christmas collection. I love the snowy woodgrain background and thought it would make the perfect backdrop for this ornament. I gathered a few scraps from the same paper line, then sponged around the edges for some shading and layered together. Once I had the placement where I wanted, I pierced a hole in the woodgrain panel to poke the cord through and hang the ornament. I finished it off with a sweet little corded bow.

Thank so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative day!

I am fairly new to papercrafting/cardmaking and just found you thru the Hero Arts hop and I'm so glad I did. I love the style of your cards so much. This card and the card and ornament from the hop are fabulous. I can't wait to try some of your techniques. You definitely have a new follower and I will be going back through your blog and Instagram as well as checking in often for inspiration. Thank you for sharing your talent. (mardy14@bellsouth.net)

Julee, I absolutely love the richness & depth of the colour you used on the ornament. I also think the snowy planked background paper sets it off perfectly. I can hardly wait to receive my first ever kit.
