Time Out for Joy

Hi friends! This is such a busy little season. So much to do in so little time and this morning when I woke up I felt overwhelmed and beat down and like I could just fall back into bed and hibernate until July. So after I dropped the boys off at school I drove to Dutch Bros. to get an Americano.  And the car in front of me paid for my coffee!  I've done this many time for others, but it was the first time I had been on the receiving end and it totally made me smile.

On the drive home, the radio station was reading grown up letters to Santa and the one I heard was asking for the gift of time. Time to shop and time to bake and time  to spend with family and time to give to others and the one that struck a chord with me the most was time for myself without feeling selfish.  Definitely.  This gal read my mind. So with my cup of Dutch Bros. in hand I decided to let the to-do's pile up and take a little time for myself  to make a quick card.

The Time Out challenge seemed like the perfect match.  Through December 21, they're CASEing the talented Kim Heggins.  I'm not typically much of a CAS stamper, but I sure do admire those like Kim who can make this style look effortless. And I'm really wishing my finished cards were easier to mail right about now! So crossing over to the CAS side is definitely looking pretty tempting to me!  LOL

I quickly laid out some of the My Cup To Yours digis in my graphics program to a 4" x 5.25" size, then print and cut so I could do a little stress-free copic coloring.  I added some sparkle with a wink of stella glitter pen and one small rhinestone in the center of the snowflake.

To give it my own flair, I added a little black matting and skewed things just a bit with some white accents.  Quick and easy and my soul feels a little bit brighter after taking some time to refresh.   I'm also linking up to the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, because...  coffee!  {grin}  And also the December Diva Inspirations challenge, because the snowflakes remind me of a chandelier I was singing Sia's Chandelier song the whole time thinking of that fun graphic with stockings hanging from a chandelier!

Enabler's List

Oh, Julee, the gift of time! Wow, we all need it and find it so hard to do...for ourselves. I think we should make 2017 the year to slow down...what do you think? It's hard though with your two little ones! But I do love this card and love the digi...thank you so much! I love how you've grouped the cups and colored them, and that snowflake is fabulous...great design! Love the skew too! Hugs, sweet friend, and enjoy Christmas Eve and Christmas day! xoxo
