Polka Dot Simplicity

Happy Tuesday!  Today I have a clean and simple (CAS) card to share.  When I was creating with the newest Verve Stamps release I couldn't get this idea out of my head.  I stepped it up a bit from my original plan to have just a one layer card and color the elephant, but it was so much fun adding a little dimension to him.  I think it still totally qualifies as CAS though!

All of the stamps used here are from the new To the Moon set.  I stamped the frame and hanger directly on the card base, then stamped the elephant in the frame.  Next I stamped the elephant a couple more times on some SU! Naturals DSP paper and some pink pirouette cardstock (for the ears) and pieced her on with dimensionals.  The Happy new baby sentiment is stamped onto a modern label punch and I tied it on with some ribbon, a little silver cording and a pink button.  My final embellishment was a tiny silver pearl from Pizzazz Aplenty as the nail hanging my picture frame up!  So fun!

Hope you're having a fantastic week so far.  I'm deep in the middle of trying to finish up a few accounting projects.  I'm so glad we get second chances in life, because there is no way I would have enjoyed being the accountant I studied to be in college!  LOL  Are any of you in the same field you studied?  Enquiring minds want to know.  :)

For a little more eye candy, be sure to check out the Verve Blog today for the next installment in our Baby Love Diva Dare series.  We're having a prize for a random commenter as well as a participant, so come play along!

Enabler's List:
Stamps: To the Moon (Verve)
Paper: White, Pink Pirouette, Naturals DSP (SU!)

LOVE this CAS look!!! That's the fun thing about your stamps...look good either way :) Yes, I am in the same field I studied..I wanted to be a teacher since I was in Gr. 4...however, I did think I wanted to teach high school French, but fell in love with the little ones :) AND I did make cards when I was little too :)

Julee, your CAS card is just the sweetest! I had to go ahead and order this set yesterday...too many cute cards to resist! I always wanted to be a nurse...got my BS degree in '74 and have been nursing ever since! I can honestly say I still enjoy my job (I have wonderful co-workers in my department).

Wow -- love the Clean and Simple look of this, while still being soft! Great job. And that elephant is super cute and looking great in spots, while the pearl and ribbon are the perfect balancing touch.

Really a GREAT card.

This card is so cute (and so easy to use a different type of image in) that I had to save a copy of it for my idea binder!

I have been in the same field since graduating from tech school in '75; however, the job has changed alot with technology since I got a diploma as a legal stenographer!!!! Now I'm a paralegal.

This is fabulous! I love your CAS as much as I love your embellished work! I am not exactly in the same field as I studied for. I have a degree in Counseling and I work in an elementary school as a disciplinarian :)

And no, thank goodness I'm not an English teacher as was the plan...I would be so grumpy getting up that early and dealing with hormonal crazy people all day long! LOL

This is darling, Julee :) Love the CAS card and that ribbon is beyond yummy :) Now I'm wishing I got the Emery PJ...oh well, next order LOL!

I actually did work in my degree for about 12 years. Got a BSc in Office Admin and worked as an Exec Asst. once I graduated. Not an Office Manager but good thing - I had to take three accounting classes for my major and HATED them!!! That side of my brain does not function LOL! Cost accounting was okay but debts, credits, depreciation etc. - I'm sweating just thinking about it!
