Rustic Saturday

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great start to your weekend! Today we have another sketch posted on the mojo blog for our Mojo Turns 100 Celebration. Janette Olen designed today's sketch and it's a fun one, so be sure to check it out.

I was thumbing through the Rustic Stack by DCWV and saw this pretty paper with flowers that reminded me of the ones in Miracles Blossom, so I had to pull it out and play. The vines in the paper were a little more wispy, so I chose to pair the Miracles Blossom flowers with the stem from the new Budding Blossoms set.
The hardest part of the card was getting the colors right. The flowers in the paper are sort of a mauve and after trying regal rose, cameo coral, worn lipstick and one other shade of pink, I finally settled on Bravo Burgundy to stamp the flower and a layering of a pink and lavender Copic to color it in. Everything is sponged with a layer of Old Paper and then Vintage Photo Ranger Distress Ink. The sage shadow and chocolate chip layers are punched with an EK Success border punch, then I added some piercing accents and a chocolate taffeta bow.

The sentiment is from the Party Time set and is punched out with the SU! 1.25" circle punch. I accented with one of my new brown shimmer flourishes from Making Memories.

I hope you've been having fun with our mojo sketches this week! We've got one more tomorrow and then we'll be back to our normal weekly sketches.

You did a great job of matching those colors and I love the shading you added around the edges. This is gorgeous and I have thoroughly enjoyed all the sketches this week. Hey, anytime someone else figures out the sketch, half the work is done for you!!LOL It's been great fun, and I got to do most of them because I did get one last week in of stamping before school gets started.
