Smile Today ATC's

So most of you know I'm not much of a swapper, but every once in a while I see a swap and I think, "I should join!" All the while suffering a temporary bit of amnesia about the last time I joined a swap and said it would be my last ever! It's not that I don't like swapping - it's just that I always end up spending FOREVER trying to come up with a completely original idea and then wait until the night before it's absolutely got to be at the post office to work on it, so completely orginal goes out the window, and completely do-able is what happens! Each time I say I'll change, but everytime I'm up working feverishly the night before! LOL, I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks. That procrastination gene is in my bones for good! ;) So, all that to say, I joined in on an ATC swap a little while ago. I figured it would be easier, because they're smaller, ya know? Can you hear me laughing? LOL! Still the same amount of stress, but there were some really cute cards in my group, so it was still a lot of fun. Hope everyone liked what I came up with.

The ATC I created for the swap uses Thankful Blossoms. I started by stamping the large blossom off the corner in Deep Lagoon Versafine ink and coloring with Copic markers. Next I stamped the stem and the You Made Me Smile Today sentiment in Deep Lagoon and then painted the flower center and some of the petals with a mixture of Diamond Glaze and Dazzling Diamonds. For embellishment I added part of a Word Window punch in cool caribbean and added a row of three little aqua rhinestones for accent. The card is then matted on cool caribbean and Paper Accents High Seas Muslin card stock.

I totally love the colors of this one, and I liked the sparkle on the centers of the flowers :)

I love your little ATC! I'm with you -- I just did an ATC swap -- same thing -- I THOUGHT about it for weeks -- didn't start it until the night before. I'm sure it could have been even more "knock your socks off" if I had WORKED on it for weeks instead! The life of a procrastinator. It's actually more that we're both perfectionists I think! Jeanne

Awesome! I love the flower off the corner and the way the stem works with the sentiment.

I got this and LOVED it!! It's so nice to see things IRL - they always look nice on the computer but even better in person! :)

These are gorgeous Julee! Love the monochromatic design!

You're not alone! I don't do swaps anymore either. What do you do with all the items you receive?

This is gorgeous Julee. I commit myself to several swaps at a time and just love them, but I do pick and choose them, as postage is beginning to become ridiculous. I have an album for my ATC's. Eventually I might start using them if I need to make a card in a hurry. But for now the album keeps them tidy and gives me something to look at for inspiration.
