Quick $1 stamp cards

Today I'm posting a couple quick little "warm-up" cards that ended up being the only thing I found time to stamp yesterday. I originally meant to have them be opposites so that the patterned paper was swapped on the second one, but I was talking on the phone while finishing it up and accidentally glued them the same way. Last weekend my bottle of Undu and a few bottles of re-inkers took a flying leap off my ink caddy and fell behind the dresser I keep all my ribbon, punches and inkpads in, so who knows when I'll take the time to move it all to retrieve it. It's probably just easier to go to Wal-mart and pick up a new bottle! But for now, it means no redos on my mistakes.

I have collected quite a few of those Michael's $1 stamps over the course of the last several months and am beginning to feel bad that I never use them. So, I pulled out a Studio G set today for these two cards. The paper is from the May Self-Addressed kit which is a kit of the month club I subscribe to and unfortunately haven't been using much of lately. The paper is by Gin-X and the card stock (except for Basic Black) is Bazzill paper. I stamped the images in Ancient Page Coal black and colored with a Bordering Blue marker. I then cut out and matted with my Creative Memories circle cutting system and then adhered to a Mega Scalloped Circle. For the second card I stamped the flower off the edges of the circle and then again on the blue paper, trimmed and popped up on Stampin Dimensionals. The first card I tied a traditional bow with black organdy ribbon. The second card uses what Shannan called a "Kendra bow" (named after the ribbon master herself, Kendra Giles) . It's a knot with another knot tied over the top of it to make it look like a bow. As usual, I finished up with some Stardust stickles. A card just doesn't feel finished until it sparkles! Both cards measure 4.25" square.

I keep looking for the dollar stamps, only have two that I really liked at Michael's. There were only three or four to pick from but lots of $5.00 stamps. I had already done some damage there so did not purchase any of them. It was my first time seeing the Martha Stewart products. Some of them were really nice, I was there to pick up a tag maker. Can you believe I did not have one, not much I lack. Great cards and the colors are so you. Thanks

Love the cards made with the $1 stamps. The paper is pretty cool also. I asked at our Michaels and the ladies looked like I was crazy she seemed not to know any thing about the $1 stamps. Thanks for sharing the super cards with us.
