Make Your Own Sunshine

Hi friends! Happy Friday! I have a sunny little card to share with you today. For our 20th, Mark and I decided to round out our collection of stoneware, replacing broken pieces and adding in a collection of coordinating soup mugs and 20 ounce java mugs.  Needless to say, there are quite a few mis-matched coffee mugs that are being phased out, and I thought it would be fun to use some of them as planters. I don't particularly have a green thumb, but I do have quite a good track record with lucky bamboo.

Anyhow, that little thought process led me to today's card.  It uses the Rise and Shine DIGITAL Set. Today's images are all new ones that were added this year when the set was re-released for purchase. I thought it would be super fun to pot a little sunflower in the sunflower mug, so sponged the sunflower image with mango sunrise and wild honey distress inks, then fussy cut.  I used the stem and leaf cut outs from the Build a Poppy Die Set, then glued it all together and potted it in the sunflower mug, which I colored with Copics and fussy cut.

Some days you have to make your own sunshine seemed like the perfect sentiment, so I cut it with a stitched circle die cut and matted with a pinking circle die cut, for a little sun effect.  I embellished with a border die from The Cat's Pajamas, a few rhinestones, a polka dot bow and a bit of morning dew Nuvo drops and glitter.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful start to your weekend.  The boys are supposed to go to a college basketball game with friends tomorrow, so I just might get another Saturday afternoon of crafting in! Yay!
