A Latte Thanks

Hi friends! I'm back with another coffee card. Hopefully you're not too tired of this theme, it's one of those things that makes me happy and I've been needing an extra helping of happy lately. This card could be done with any images and sentiment, though, so I think even if you are all coffeed out you can glean a little inspiration from it, still. {grin}

I used the stencil monoprint technique for the background. Every time I try this technique I fall totally in love with the results. If you haven't tried it you should! Here I used distress oxide inks in broken china, cracked pistachio and faded denim. I loved it so much I didn't want to cover it up, but settled for using some of the second print I pulled from the second ink to paper piece the cup and stamp the sentiment cricle.  Stamps are from the Fill My Cup set, and I cut the paper pieced cup with the coordinating Happiness in a Cup die set.

To make the gift card holder, I created a little pocket for the gift card. I selected a circle die that was wider than the gift card, then cut two of those from black. I cut half of one circle off, then glued around the edges of the semi-circle, lining up with the bottom edge of the full circle to form a little pocket to tuck the gift card in. Then the recipient can just pull out the card and still have a pretty card to look at. Since I haven't purchased a gift card yet for this card, I tucked in one I received from a sweet friend for my birthday.  Isn't this one just gorgeous? Love the colors!

I embellished the card with a bit of my favorite wide striped ribbon, a puffy star sticker on the cup and some crystal drops.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you are having a day filled with happy!
