Wish Card Concept

Hi friends! It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.  I had lots of things swirling through my head when I looked at the inspiration photo, but the thing I kept coming back to was the wish banner and the pine garland above the fireplace.  So I set out to recreate it in card form with the Pinecone Christmas set, a few dies and some new snow paste I picked up at Michaels and was excited to test out.

I started by cutting the WISH letters from sticky fun foam using the Vintage Market alphabet die from Tim Holtz. Next I coated them with the snow paste.  I then cut four of the small pennants from the Stitched Pennants Die Set in early espresso and lightly scraped a bit of the leftover paste onto them.

I set the banner pieces aside to dry and stamped the pine branches, boughs and pine cones from the Pinecone Christmas stamp set.  I then scraped on a bunch more of the snow paste (can you tell I was loving the snow paste?) all over the panel to make a snowy scene.

Back to the banner, I layered the die cut letters over the pennants and then folded them over a piece of baker's twine that I wrapped around the panel.  I also tied a bow with two lengths of twine and hot glued to the piece.  I finished off with a wooden snowflake coated with texture paste and sprinkled with glitter.  A winter wonderland for sure!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful last day of November.  If you get a chance, be sure to hop over to The Card Concept to peek at the loveliness the other designers are sharing today. It's our last challenge until January, so we hope you'll play along.
