November Release Retrospective Blog Hop

Hi friends! Do you have your hopping shoes on?  Well, it's time for our November Release Retrospective Blog Hop and the Verve Divas and special guests have some sweet inspiration for you today.  Hop along and leave a little shout-out in the comments as you tour our blogs for an entry in a prize drawing for a $40 gift voucher to the Verve shop!

I'm the first stop on the hop, so grab a cuppa something awesome and settle in for a fun little blog hop.  My card uses the Viva la Verve November Sketch 2 that Maureen is hosting starting today.

Last weekend, Mark and I were strolling around in the North End of Boise and I found this little gift shop I'd never been to. The kind of store that you only stroll into when there are no kiddos around because you're holding your breath with each step you make, just hoping you don't knock something over! It was filled to the brim with magical things and this little Saint Nicholas ornament just had to come home with me.  I loved his shabby charm and he (and the memory of that overflowing store) became the inspiration for my card... although at the very last minute I decided to go with pink instead of aqua.

The stocking are from the  Jolly Jingles set and colored with Copic markers, then cut with the coordinating Winter Friends Die Set .  I stamped the holly jolly Christmas sentiment on a stitched circle and colored the holly in with copics as well.  The base layer brings in more pink with some Lindy's magical powders, then I layered some patterned papers and a silver doily for the other panels.

For embellishment I have a silver glass glitter star, some silver twine with jingle bells attached and a sweet little reindeer chipboard piece I painted white and then coated with stardust stickles.

If something a little simpler is your style, I have a clean and simple card over on the Verve Blog today, along with the master hop list and all the blog hop details.  Here's a little peek...

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Next up on the hop is the fabulous Lee Ann.

Great details on your non-traditional-color card. You're the best at shabby-ing a card!

Julee your card is just gorgeous as usual. Love the pink color. Did some shopping like that last weekend too, but my Trevor is 20 so it is easier, hehe.

Love the old-fashioned glass ornament as an inspiration piece! The plaid banner and glittering deer are so pretty! So excited to begin my Thanksgiving break with some inspiration from the Divas, and I hope for a little stamping time.
