Wonderful Marvelous Mixed Media

Hi friends!  It's Monday again and time for another of my card sketches over at Mojo Monday!  I soaked up the sun this weekend and ran out of time to finish my card for this morning.  Then got up early this morning to do it, and in a pre-coffee haze decided to add texture paste which takes FOREVER to dry!  So I'm a bit late in posting due to dry time wait, but had a lot of fun with this card.

My background was created with a couple of stencils, some Color Burst powders and a few distress inks.  I added the mini chevron pattern in textured paste and then realized I hadn't sealed my inks, so went over it again with a coat of white paint to make it stand out a bit more.  The inner rectangle is done with distress inks, texture paint and a stencil.  I added the sentiment from Wonderful Marvelous (on sale for 30% off right now) to the center, with a wash of distress inks behind.  I found this tropical flower in my stash when I was working on my Diva Inspirations Hop card and just had to use it.  A sprinkling of Shine Bright sequins finished things off.

Tropical is definitely the word for this little lovely! SO much fun and bright color - totally love it! As to the texture paste dry time - I just heat set mine! It creates all these fun little bubbles, which I love.

Julee, this is GORGEOUS! I love the vibrant colors, and the texture you've added with the mixed media techniques is wonderful! I've not yet really dared into this area (but I have all the stuff - hehe!). So you've really inspired me! Maybe one day soon? Beautifully done! Hugs!
