Fill My Cup

Hi friends! Today I'm popping in with a card I made with the free Cup of Kindness digi set I designed for Verve. I illustrated several stamp sets for Christmas this year, but due to illnesses (myself and my boys), I wasn't able to meet my deadlines to get them sent to manufacturing in time. So I guess I'm ready for next year already, right? {grin}

Since I was pretty bummed about not having a release and really wanted something new to play with, I designed this fun digi set that's available as a free download from Verve through 12/25/15. Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy it and link me up so I can come check out your cards!

For my card, I used one of my unused attempts at the dry emboss resist for my Card Concept 45 challenge card this week. It uses that same embossing folder and I think I used soft gloss for my resist medium, then stains and acrylics. I also added some texture with a stencil and white embossing paste.
Next up, I printed the digis on white card stock and cut the cocoa cup with a stitched circle die. I masked off the whip cream and sponged antique linen around the mug and also on the two sentiments for a warm glow. I then took another cocoa image and added glossy glaze to the snowflake and did a little resist with stormy sky and faded jeans inks. I fussy cut just the mug and pieced it onto my stitched circle, topping the whipped cream with frosted lace stickles. I added shabby distressed edges to all my layers.

I'm completely hooked on using frantage embossing powder right now. I embossed three sizes of wood veneer snowflakes and scattered them around.  I finished by swiping a Versamark pad down the edge and heat embossing the frantage powder to add a snowy look to the edge.

Well, that's all for me.  Hope you have a fabulous start to your weekend!

Oh Julee, this "castoff" project is just as fabulous as your keeper! The layers of glitter, frantage, and stickles are all just fabulous against this beautiful blue inky background! I was so hoping that you would release a new coffee digi early enough to get some work done for the next coffee lovers hop. Thanks so much for sharing it a bit early so we'll have more time to play. Thanks so much for a great year of Verve, sketches, and inspiration. You are a true gift to the stamping world! Holiday hugs, Autumn

Julee your card is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing AND thanks so much for the wonderful freebie. I have downloaded them and plan on working on one or two this week.
I hope you and the boys are feeling better. I to have been plagued with illness since October. Colds, bronchitis, asthma, then a week long stomach flu {for Thanksgiving} and now a sinus and cough thing. It seems since October if it is out there I've caught it
