Cocoa and a Bookmark

Hi friends! I'm popping in over the holiday weekend with a fun little hot cocoa holder I made.  We had a fabulous Thanksgiving and are hoping for a (relatively) quiet (haha!) day with the boys today!

Since I saw the tutorial on SCS earlier this month, I've wanted to make one of these Twisted Cards. I followed the tutorial, stamping leaves and sponging the edges of the inside and outside of the holder, then adding a little Flourished Trim accented with liquid pearls to the front flap.

I made both flaps a pocket, so I could tuck a removable bookmark (secured on the back with a little washi tape) in the front flap and use the inner pocket for a packet of hot cocoa and a thank you note.

The bookmark is made from so saffron card stock and I cut the top shape with the scalloped topper die from the Good Work Flowers Die Set.  I made a coordinating mat from early espresso to give a little heft to the project.  The sentiment is from Good Work (just restocked and on SALE, hooray!) and stamped in early espresso, then I stamped around the edges with leaves from the set and sponged with so saffron ink.  A bit of ribbon and twine, along with a rhinestone and my bookmark was ready!

For the inside of the holder, I cut a piece of patterned paper I thought would coordinate nicely  to tuck over the hot cocoa packet and write a little note.  The thank you circle is added with a stamp from the Sweet Treats set and then punched with circle dies.  I clipped it all to the hot cocoa packet with a mini library clip and tucked it inside.  So easy and fun... I can see myself making many more in the weeks to come!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you're in the mood to shop, head on over for Verve's Thankful Sale! 30% off all in stock stamps, dies & embellishments through November 30.  Plus free first class shipping on US orders over $30!  I just re-stocked the shop the other day with a bunch of sets.  Happy shopping! :)

My favorite sentiment in all its glory as it falls so closely in line with my life verse of Phil 1:6 :) Love the rich, autumn colours, your details are amazing as always and what a cool fold!! Wishing you, Mark and the boys a blessed Thanksgiving ((hugs))!!
