Harvest Glam

Hi friends!  I'm back with another black, white & glam card, as well as my loose interpretation on this week's Viva la Verve sketch.

I just want to say I absolutely freak out when I see spiders or spiderwebs.  Even pretend ones.  Other than owls, there is nothing creepier in my book. But for some reason, the spiderweb doilies out this season are just so cool to me and I'm totally hooked!

My kiddos have been sick with a stomach bug this week, so my time has been extremely limited. Yesterday I got a little time to sneak into the studio and when I saw an already stamped and cut pumpkin from Bountiful Harvest just sitting there left over from my last project, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I started with some distress watercolor paper.  I used the crackle layering stencil and added shades of mustard seed, hello honey and dried marigold.  Next I rubbed some tarnished brass distress stain around.  Then I lifted off the stencil and while things were still wet, I poured on some antique gold shabby embossing powder and heat embossed.  It came out super cool and was the perfect backdrop for the gold spiderweb doily.  Next I embossed the happy harvest sentiment in gold on vellum, then added versamark directly to the edges and embossed in gold.  The moon is also from the Bountiful Harvest set, and I used the same colors of distress ink, then fussy cut.  I finished off with some wooden stars I embossed in gold to match and then distressed all the edges of my layers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
