Thanks a Latte

Hi friends!  I'm popping in with another card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

This was the card I made just for the fun of it on Saturday morning. For the watercolor background, I squished a bit of twisted citron and mermaid lagoon inks onto a large acrylic block, then spritzed with a bit of water and laid my watercolor paper down.  I spritzed with a bit more water and blotted with a paper towel to soften things up a bit, then once that had dried, I masked off the edges and embossed the java text stamp from Better With You  in white all over the background.  Love how it turned out!

I didn't want to cover up to much of the background, so went with an acetate overlay for the sentiment, stamping the thanks a latte stamp in archival black.  I stamped and cut the big java to-go cup, then watercolored with the same colored inks and an aqua brush.  I added a bit of loopy thread behind and a hint of a black mat on two sides to break up the two neutral off-whites.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'm busy preparing for Verve's release next week!  It's been a long (unintended) dry spell of no new Verve and I'm so excited to share our new stamps with you! Spotlight hops start on Monday, June 15 and we'll be releasing 5 new sets, 2 plain janes and a few coordinating dies on Friday, June 19.  It's going to be a lot of fun, so I hope you'll tune in!
