Floral Notes Day 3 Blog Hop

Hi friends!  We're back at it with Day 3 of Verve's June New Release Blog Hops. I sure enjoyed hopping along yesterday and can't wait to see what the Divas have cooked up for today.

I'm the first stop along today's hop, so settle in for some fun as we shine our sneaky spotlights on the new Floral Notes set and coordinating Floral Notes Die Set that will release this Friday!  We're giving today's featured products away to a random commenter along today's hop, so be sure to leave a little shout out as you hop about!  :)

This set is the second set illustrated by Chaitali Narla for this release.  Included in the set are a small and large poppy image, a solo version of the lilies image in the Framed Lilies set and some great all occasion sentiments.  The coordinating Floral Notes Die Set includes dies to cut all three floral images in the set.

For today's card I made a little birthday card for my Mom, who's birthday is tomorrow.  I started with the large poppy image from Floral Notes, stamped in archival ink on watercolor paper and cut with the coordinating Floral Notes Die Set.  I then watercolored with distress inks and added a bit of sparkle with a wink of stella glitter pen.  The tag shape is a die we'll be featuring later in the week, called the Flourished Tag Die.  I used the circle die in the set to make a little foldover accent at the top of the tag with coordinating patterned paper, then accented with big pink pearls.  I put a thin seam of glue down both sides and the bottom and glued two tags together to form a little pocket for the gift card I'm giving.  The sentiment is stamped on a circle die cut and sponged with worn lipstick ink.  I matted it with a black pinking circles die cut.

While I was at it, I decided to make a coordinating little post-it note holder using the smaller poppy image in the set, which I had cut and colored at the same time as the other one.  I have dimensions for this post-it project over on my post on the Verve Blog today.  The sentiment is stamped on the circle die cut from the Flourished Tag Die, then matted with the SU! scalloped punch.  I added a belly band of ribbon and then layered my pieces and was done.

Next up on the hop is the fabulous Stacey!
