Thanks a Bunch

Hi friends!  It's the first Monday of a new month and that means it's prize giveaway time over on the Mojo Monday blog.  Play along with this week's sketch for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice from Verve!  We'll have a winner for every 50 entries, so feel free to let the mojo flow and link up as many cards as you can create with the sketch.

Mark had surgery on his shoulder last week and I have been in nurse mode and mom mode and packing and shipping for Verve mode, which left no time for card making mode. So for my sample card, I quickly threw together some scraps of paper with an already stamped, colored and cut out image that was sitting on my desk.

The stamps are from the Framed Lilies set, and were stamped in early espresso, then water colored with distress markers and a water brush.  I dripped a bit of watered down ink for the splatters.  The ribbon for the bow is from the Signature Ribbon Collection and I matted most of the layers with early espresso card stock.  A bit of ink distressing (for a short video on my distressing and the card that inspired this week's sketch click here) finishes things off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'm taking Mark to physical therapy and then have a ton of orders to pack.  Verve's sale technically ended last night, but it will probably be this evening before I have a chance to start changing out the website, if you still want to sneak an order in.  :)

{{Hugs!}} Take care of yourself while you take care of everyone else, ok?? Your card is lovely, BTW - Gorgeous way to use up "scraps"!! : )

Wish I could throw things together so nicely. Adore that EF you used and your bow is divine. Hugs to you nurse, mama, packer, shipper etc. and hoping Mark's shoulder gets better quickly.

This may have been quick and thrown together, but it's still a gorgeous card! Hope Mark has a quick recovery (been there done that when DH had his shoulder surgery; PT was worse than the surgery pain). Good luck with the MANY hats you are wearing these days! This too shall pass. :-)

Wow I wish I could "throw together" such a pretty card. My card always take me a long time to do. I love the colours you've used on this card. I pray that Mark's shoulder heals quickly and properly.

Wish the scraps left on my desk would make such a lovely card. The colors are absolutely gorgeous. Prayers for you in both mommy and nurse mode!

Wow! This does not look like a "Scraps" card!!!
It's beautiful.
When it rains, it pours :-( Now is a good time to prioritize and only work on the top 3 or 4 things on your list. Don't forget to take a minute to put your feet up and sip some warm apple cider or camomile tea with a little honey. My doctor says that we should all be eating a teaspoon of honey every day. It has anti-inflammatory properties and it's supposed to help boost the immune system :-)
I received my Verve order--thank you for such timely shipping.

If that's your throw-together card, I'd hate to see a card you *really* put time and effort into! ;) Now I'm almost embarrassed to share mine, lol. You know those times when it's going great until the last second, and then it all goes downhill? Yup, one of those! Maybe I won't redo it, and post the craziness anyhow. :D
