Mixed Up Tag

Hi friends!  Today I've got a fun little card I made this last weekend while playing with my new gelli plate for the first time.  I'd seen that the Mixed Media Mojo Challenge for August was to make a tag, so I thought that was the perfect place to start with my gelli plate.

For the gelli printing I used orange, blue, yellow and green acrylic paint, a little slow-dry medium and some dry wall tape and window screen mesh for texture.  The sentiment panel  is cut from the same tag I used on my Mojo Monday card this week and the crackly look of the paint came from dipping the window screen mesh onto the painted gelli plate, then removing it before printing.  The focal tag is another print I did using the dry wall tape as a mask for a fun dotted effect.  I stamped down the side with  the large feather from Moments Remembered in Archival Ink and then also stamped the sentiment from the same set in archival ink.

I was inspired by one of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges as well, so decided to use a piece of that window screen mesh directly on my project, layering it between the tag (a standard manila tag from Ranger) and the sentiment panel.  Both pieces were distressed with a little walnut stain ink around the edges.  I created the bow for the tag with some wide striped ribbon from SU! that I cut in half and then pulled the threads out for a nice stringy bow.  For the base of the card I used some Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper and added a bit of the dry wall tape I used in the gelli printing for the bottom layer.

Enabler's List
Stamps: Moments Remembered (Verve Stamps)
Paper: manila tags, Kraft Resist (Tim Holtz)
Ink: black archival (Ranger), altered orange, yellow pastel, sky blue and landscape green acrylics and extra time slow-dry medium (Claudine Hellmuth Studio)
Accessories:  ribbon (SU!), window screen mesh, dry wall tape, gelli plate
