Enjoy Life

Hi friends!  It's Monday again and time for a brand new Mojo Monday sketch.  This week is a contest week, so there are plenty of prizes up for grabs!  I hope you'll come play along with us.  This week's sketch was based on a card I made early in July. I liked the way it came together and thought it would be a fun layout to see everyone take on.

As a treat for my birthday, I bought myself the Simple Blooms set from The Cat's Pajamas that I absolutely adored.  I really wanted the Vintage Summer set, too, but since I rarely get to stamp anything that's not for a Verve commitment, I limited myself to this one, which I knew I would definitely get used in my art journal. I've been feeling a little lackluster in the mojo department lately and decided I needed a little time away from Verve this weekend.  I told Mark it's the 7 year itch!  LOL  So I pulled out Simple Blooms along with my brand new Creative Palette monoprinting plate (a birthday present from Mark) and got busy making some gelli prints.  So fun!

The stamped panels on this card are all cut from a tag I printed using the Creative Palette.  I used Claudine Hellmuth acrylic paints, a brayer and added some texture with a bit of window screen mesh.  Pulled a bunch of different prints off my first attempt using this product, so I'm sure you're going to be seeing more of this color palette! I cut my three panels down to the size I wanted, stamped with archival black ink, then sponged around the edges with Walnut Stain.  The baja breeze panel is crimped and then sponged with walnut stain. Used a new to me embossing folder for the cream panel, and accented with an exotic butterfly die cut and the back side of some SU! polka dot grosgrain ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

LOVE your card. Your colors are beautiful.
Sounds like you had a great birthday.
Happy {late} Birthday.
I've been enjoying my summer off {I'm a teacher} It's kind of fun to just craft when I want. {my daughter is grown} I call it my craft-cation.
Sometimes we just need to put other things on hold so our creativity can flow.
Take time for yourself.
Hugs,
