Anyhow, it's the first Friday of a new Viva la Verve series and that means I'm hosting the sketch and a color challenge over on the VLV Sketches blog. This month I chose a color combo that reminded me of summer by the sea. My concept for the sketch was to make a cute little gift card pocket with my envelope punch board. But as luck would have it, our Internet was out the entire day when I needed to make my card and I didn't actually remember how to make one! So I decided to save that idea for later and just make a traditional card with the sketch.
The papers are from the Lost & Found Two collection and I stamped the flowers from Button Best directly onto the patterned paper, then cut with the coordinating Petal Points dies. I used a fun brad I've had in my stash for many a year and tucked some greenery behind, cut with the Sprightly Sprigs dies out of lucky limeade. The sentiment is from Small Phrases and I stamped it onto a crumb cake die cut from the Flag It Die Set. A bit of walnut stain distress inks touched every single paper layer to give a little aged look, and I embellished with a punched border, rhinestones and some lucky limeade ribbon.
If you haven't heard already, Verve is having a store wide sale through July 10. Everything is at least 15% off, so it's a perfect time to pick up a little something for your summer crafting!
