Trick or Treat Bot

Hi friends!  Happy October!  I was able to sneak in a little bit of stamping time yesterday, and just had to pull out the new Birthday Bots set.  I had an idea to make some little treat sacks with the bots for some of the boys' little friends for an outing we're going to have later in October, but I couldn't find the treat sacks I had in mind.  So, I decided to make a little card instead!

The bot is stamped onto a Tagged Rectangle Die cut.  I wanted  a little glow behind my bot, but am not an amazing colorer, so I decided to mask him off with some eclipse tape, then just rubbed some pan pastels around the image until I achieved the desired glow.  His little outfit is paper pieced and I added some nailheads and a shiny silver pearl to dress up his nose and mask.

Both sentiments are from the Boo to You set.  I love how the Halloween one fits on the Tagged Rectangle Die  and what's not to love about stamping on striped paper?  I always seem to stamp on white unless I'm paper piecing, but I love the subtle look of the trick-or-treat here.  The background is super cool in real life, but unfortunately I covered most of it up.  Just an excuse to make another card, right?  I used the Chevron embossing folder from SU! and the letterpress technique (ink up the raised edges on your folder, stick in your cardstock, run it through your die cut machine and voila!) with black ink on smoky slate.  It almost looks like tire tread!  I finished off with a seam binding bow from the Autumn Elements Ribbon Collection and then distressed a few edges.  Finished card size is 4" square.

Enabler's List
Stamps: Birthday Bots, Boo to You (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Mischievous (MME), smoky slate, basic black (SU!)
Ink: Black, Pan Pastels
Accessories: Tagged Rectangle Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), Autumn Elements Ribbon Collection (Verve), Chevron embossing folder (SU!), shiny silver pearls and nailheads (Pizzazz Aplenty), glossy glaze, rhinestone flourish, eclipse tape
