Never Give Up

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Today I'm teaming up with my uber talented friend, Laurie, to bring the Day 3 Anni-VERVE-sary Release Challenge to you. And you know me and sketches! {grin} I love a skewed panel, so that's what this one's all about.  Head on over to the forum to check it out and play along with us!  You just might win some shiny new VERVE!

This card includes a few sneak peeks at goodies releasing from Verve on the night of August 24.  The flower and leaves are stamped with the Dream Big set which released a while back, and I know many of you will be excited to hear that this release includes a Scalloped Flowers Die Set and Dreamy Leaves Die Set that coordinate with Dream Big.  I've used them here with a little tone on tone stamping and I just love how it turned out.  There's another peek at that Pennant Trim Die for my border and the sentiment is from a new set called Borderline.

I found these fabulous fabric strips on the same visit to Tuesday Morning I found yesterday's Tim Holtz adornments.  I loved the designs and couldn't wait to get home and use them for cardmaking.  Here, I've glued and stitched it to some black cardstock, then frayed the edges a bit and distressed with distress inks and stains.  The background panels are old dictionary paper that I've distressed with stains, inks and gelatos and baby wipes.  Oh, and I threw in some Tim Holtz tissue tape for good measure!  {wink}  I added some black lace trim and some shiny twill that I roughed up with a gelato, then added some flatback pearls from Pizzazzz Aplenty and a metal flower to the flower center.  Lots of stitching and staples and distressing and general inky fun!  My hands were MESSY when I finished!  That's always a good sign!

That's all for today!  Tomorrow marks the first day of our Anni-VERVE-sary spotlight hops, so be sure to grab a cup of your favorite beverage and be prepared to settle in for some sneaky peeky fun!

I absolutely love this card. I feel like it really embodies the sentiment. The clean look of the flower seems to symbolize hope amidst a time of darkness. "Never give up" - what a beautiful message.

i really like how you've really mixed up the details and the colours are so dark. The hopeful blue really pops out with your message!
