Mojo Thanks

Welcome to another week! I'm refreshed from my vacation and ready to get back to the business of living! And since Monday's start off with a mojo sketch, that's what I have for you today. You can see the sketch and all the details for this month's contest over on the Mojo Monday blog. Yep, that's right... it's contest time again with a new sketch and prizes to be won!

Last week I got to stamp with Laurie, one of my favorite stampers. It was so much fun just hanging out, talking stamps and seeing how the magic happens. I took some mental notes to try once I got home, so this card is heavily influenced by Laurie's beautifully distressed style. I started by sponging the edges of the pink paper, distressing with my distressing tool, then matting on classic cream, also sponged and distressed. I just love the stitching Laurie adds to her cards, but my sewing machines would not cooperate, so I did the next best thing - faux stitching with my paper piercer and a chocolate chip marker.

I strayed a bit off sketch and my circle is behind my rectangle. Mark got me a Slice for my birthday and I hadn't had a chance to use it yet, so I was determined to use this label from the Studio Essentials cartridge. The orange and cream papers are sponged with first Tea Dye and then Vintage Photo distress ink. I stamped the greenery from Miracles Blossom, then the tulips in Tangerine Tango and Melonberry Mambo. I colored, trimmed out and popped up the tulips for some dimension, then added some sparkle with Diamond Stickles.

The larger circles are cut with Classic Nestabilities and embossed with the Textile embossing folder, before being sponged with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I wanted a sentiment, so I decided to add a little circular panel with the thanks sentiment from Circular Sayings. I accented it with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch all blinged out with Stickles. Then I finished off with some of the orange striped ribbon from SU! and a classic cream card base.

Well, I hope you have a fantastically creative Monday! Thanks for stopping by!
