PCP 12 Days of Christmas - Day 7

Hi everyone! Today's 7th Day of Christmas challenge on Paper Craft Planet is being sponsored by Verve. The challenge is to create a card (or any paper craft) that is elegantly black and white. Feel free to toss in a just a splash of color. Upload to PCP using keyword 12day7 by midnight tonight and you'll be entered in a drawing to receive the Snowflake Splendor, Snow Wonderful and Poinsettia Christmas sets! For all the details, check out the challenge thread --> HERE <--.

Here's my card for the challenge. Whenever I think of the phrase splash of color it reminds me of how frustrated I am whenever I try to cook and the recipes use subjective terms like dash and pinch. Give me solid measurements and I can follow any recipe. It's the grey areas that make for some pretty scary dishes! LOL Well, my card isn't scary, but I'm thinking my color usage was more of a cannonball than a graceful little splash! :) I had a hard time stopping once I started adding the color.

I started by stamping the square border strip from Snowflake Splendor in Versafine Onyx Black, then coloring with a Copic marker and using the dotted border from the With Love Cuttlebug border collection to emboss a row of dots above and below. For the second panel, I stamped the
circle stamp randomly around the panel. I used my 3/4" circle punch to punch out several Pirouette Pink circles, then stamped each one with the tiny star stamp and glued inside the circles. I sponged the edges with Pirouette Pink and then matted with black. For the ribbon treatment, I took the SU! Curvy Label Punch, scored in half and then folded around the Snowflake panel. Next I used my cropadile to make two holes through the panels and tied a pink taffeta bow through the holes. The main white panel is embossed with the Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder and matted on a black card bases. For the finishing touches I added some tiny pink rhinestones to the center of the stars, and a few Stardust Stickles accents to the embossed dots on the horizontal strip.

I hope you find some time today to play along with this challenge! And don't forget the Verve Project Parade is nearing it's end. You have until Friday at noon to get your entries in for your chance to win $15 in Verve Bucks!
