Blog Candy Bonanza

Hi everyone! Well, in 23 days I'll be celebrating my 2 year Blog-a-versary! And since I'll be right in the midst of another Verve release right about then, I decided to start the celebration a little early! Thanks to all of you who've been reading these past 2 years. Your comments and support are a daily inspiration to me. Thanks for taking the time to stop by my corner of the world each day. :)

What kind of a celebration would it be without a prize? Well, I've gathered a few of my favorite things, including a donation from my favorite stamp company owner, Alma of The Cat's Pajamas, to offer up as blog candy. Sorry about the poor photo - I hit the limits of how much stuff I could cram into my little photo box. :)

Here's the Loot...
Stamp Sets:
Elegant Christmas
Aargh! Piratey
Loving Mew
Thankful Blossoms
Seeing Stars
Wonderful Wishes
Snowflake Splendor
Cupcake Affair

Other Goodies:
Pearlescent Watercolors
American Crafts Swiss Dot Ribbon
Stardust Stickles
Pearlized White Cardstock
Cut N Dry foam (my favorite custom sponges for adding ink to my projects)
Assortment of 6 x 6 papers
Assortment of Vanilla Hodgepodge
2 Copic Sketch markers (BG09 and B93)
And who knows what other handmade goodies might just hop in the box?

So how do you win all this loot?
Just leave me a comment on this post telling me a few of your favorite things in 2008. They can be items, events, things that happened to you, accomplishments, etc. Just something that makes you smile when you think back about the past year. Leave your comment before midnight on Wednesday, December 17 and you'll be in the drawing for this bountiful blog booty! I'll announce the winner on Thursday, December 18.

Here's mine... In 2008 I fell in love with Copics, Nestabilites, and the Twilight series! My favorite day was sitting FRONT and CENTER at an Alanis Morissette concert. My favorite accomplishment was designing Beautiful You, a tribute to my amazing design team.

So how about you?

Comments are now closed. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with me!

Hey Julee! WOW! 2 years! A big, big CONGRATULATIONS! I've only been blogging for a few months and believe me, I've learned so much just by visiting blogs like yours. I've also learned about (and fell in love with) Copics! I can't wait to own them all - someday! But what I did learn was how to be more creative with your sketch challenge and other color challenges. I was always one to CASE until I visited here and SCS. I took a deep breath and started with a sketch challenge. So, thank you so much for helping my creativity to come out!

Great blog candy Julee! Hmm... the best things - In 2008 my hubby and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We built our own house and moved in last month! My brother in law came home from Afghanistan! I think my artistic abilities have matured a lot! Too many to fit in one comment! Thanks for the chance to win!

Janet said...

Congrats! A few of my favorite things are definitely family and friends. That's #1. I'm desperate to try copics, so that could be one of my favs shortly. I love spellbinders.

Hmmm...well, I discovered the fun of coloring in stamped images and opened myself up to a whole new world! We moved into a new apartment out of our big old house and we love it! That is probably the best thing about the year - a wonderful place to live! I also participated in lots of challenges and even won a few! I got the chance to be a guest Design Team member on a favorite blog and that was a big thing for me, too. I guess there were some gun things this passed year! Thanks for the reminder!

Wow that is an amazing amount of Blog Candy!
The best thing that happened to me in 2008 actually is happening to my Brother. He badly injured his spine during a work accident in February. He was told he would likely never walk again. I am so happy to say that with a ton of PT, and an a never give up attitude he has regained an amazing amount of movement, and with the use of leg braces he has started walking in PT. Truely, for me it is the best thing that has happened in 2008! -Molly B

While I love stamping, my favorite moments over the past year have nothing to do with that. Last year my MIL was on life support twice and miraculously made it through both times. Even when the doctors had given up we didn't. In October she was able to join us on a huge family trip to Disneyworld for 10 days! The idea to go was hers 9 years ago. It really doesn't get much better than that!

Happy 2nd Blogaversary! In 2008 I too fell in love with the Twilight series! =) I just recently found stamping & started a nice "little" collection. I recently found copics & nesties, which I am sure I will love in no time. I have loved watching my 3 yr old niece & 1 1/2 yr old nephew grow up, they are at a really fun age. I also have enjoyed spending more quality time with my DBF.

Jacqueline said...

I fell in love with twilight too! I have read all four books multiple times! In 2008 I found SCS and have felt like a part of a big family! It is so great! Also Just everyday accomplishments from my kids make me stop and be grateful for them in my life, their birthdays are so much fun when they realize they are older and can learn more and more things! What an amazing giveaway, too generous! Congrats on your blogaversary coming up, wishing many more!

HAPPY BLOG ANNIVERSARY!!

2008 was a year I realized that I really can accomplish alot of GREAT things in my art career when I put my mind to it! 2009 is going to be even better!!!

My favorite thing this past year was being pregnant (yes I loved every minute of it) and then in the delivery room when my husband announced it was a boy! Everyone was sure it was going to be a girl, but I knew different! Also, my hubby & I celebrated our 1 year anniversary 2 days after Alex was born!

I just wanted to say I love your blog & your challenges, they've really helped me become a better stamper! Congrats on your 2 years, and I hope you have a million more!

What an awesome prize package. I also fell in love with copics and nesties. I don't know how I ever created without them. This year was my 5 year wedding anniversary and my husband surprised me with a nice supper and beautiful diamond earrings.

Hmm, one of the best things craft-wise (or worst from my wallet's point of view) was discovering the world of blogging! I've gotten so much inspiration from all the wonderful blogs out there. Watching my 16-month son learn to walk and talk has definitely been a family highlight this year.

juliescrapbook said...

The highlight of the year was taking our very first cruise as a family. We got to swim with the dolphins. This was my ultimate moment in 2008. The year ends very well taking a 12 week online class with Cathy Zielske. LOVE it!!

Erica said...

Congrats on your 2 year anniversary. I just found your blog a couple of weeks ago and I am so happy I did. I love your sketch challenges!
2008 was a crazy year for me. The best thing that happened in 2008 was that I got out of a very bad 2 year relationship, moved back home and reconnected with my family. I also found more time (and money) to stamp and make cards which has been wonderful. I also got to go see my best friend in Baltimore. And now as the year is closing I am beginning to date again and see what the world truely has to offer me! I can't wait to see what 2009 has in store.

I actually started checking out the Splitcost Stampers website in May (even tho I signed up fall of 07), and have enjoyed it SO much. Stamping - what a wonderful creative outlet. It also gives me lots of time to just ruminate over things that go on in my life.
BUT ... I have to say, I think I should win cuz I've never touched a Verve stamp - I know - Hey, I didn't go outside my Stampin Up box until Splitcoast came along ... I'm working my way through all the different stamp companies, lol.
Congratulations on your Anniversary!!!

have a wonderful week and your blog is great.

congrats on 2 yrs! i love Verve & your products are actually responsible for my obsession with clear/acrylic stamps!

there are SO many things to be thankful for this year. the first being that my husband & i have recession-proof jobs. he's in medical sales & is on track to make quota so we should have a nice bonus to spend on home improvements and, of course, our favorite hobbies! ;p our jobs also afforded us opportunities to travel - ireland was my favorite! i also fell in love with the twilight series this year - i went to the midnight movie opening (with all the crazy teenagers!) & i'm going to the convention in dallas in july! it was so great to find a series as good as harry potter. but i think, most importantly, i'm thankful for my wonderful family & friends who support me in everything i do. i really don't know where i would be without them!

Karen said...

I discovered Nestabilities too - How did I ever do without them? Taking an intensive French course has moved me on massively (I'm British living in France). Biggie of the year was becoming self-employed as a card-maker and craft supplier.
Most grateful for: our life and health here.

Congratulations Julee! You have such an amazing blog. This past year I've learned so much about stamping by blog hopping, trying sketch challenges, and buying all sorts of fun stamping toys. Congratulations!! What an incredible loot giveaway - WOW!

I, much like you, fell in love with Copics this year. I also learned to love 'my' style and not feel the need to please anyone else with my creativity, that sounds funny, but I think people fall prey to that too often.

We watched our oldest enter middle school and do the BEST she has ever done in school - who would have "thunk it" in MIDDLE SCHOOL!

Watching our other two grow and become their own little people.

Blessings beyond belief from our Heavenly Father.

Thanks for the chance to win!

Congrats on 2 years of blogging. In the stamping world a few of my favorite things for 2008 were nestabilities, Verve(!) and I also joined the copic bandwagon. On the home front, June was a huge month for us. My second oldest nephew and his wife had their first baby (a boy) and 3 days later my youngest nephew got married. Then in August we celebrated my parent's 60th anniversay. It's been quite a year!

Congrats on your Blog-a-versary!! My favorite things in 2008 definitely include the birth of my 3rd baby in September. I also became a Stampin' Up! demo and I discovered some great sketch blogs that I like to use when I create cards.

First of all, congrats and thanks for your generousity. My favorite thing of 2008 was my wedding (April 19th). I love being married to a wonderful husband. I've been blessed beyond measure.

I really appreciate your blog and you sharing your talent!

Congratulations on two years.
In 2008, I decided to commit to becoming a "Hobby Demonstrator" for Stampin'Up!, I discovered some incredible blogsites like Poetic Artistry and Capture the Moment as well as many many others, and my rubber collection is evolving into unmounted on cling vinyl - thanks to my successes with using Verve stamps and other clear stamp collections. Thank you for this opportunity to win several wonderful clear sets. Marilyn Wolk

Two years already? Wow time really flies by doesn't it! Well lets see, this year I found copics which I now love as well, I have been loving finding new companies to stamp with, such as your beautiful verve stamps, so many more bloggers, and lots more stamping friends. I loved the last year, and I can only wait to see what is coming next!

I got to attend the Copic training class this year and that was a highlight. Not only did I learn more about the markers, but I got to meet Marianne, Lori Craig and Sharon Harnist!!!! I think the most amazing thing that happened this year is watching God heal my aunt! We spent a week at Mayo wondering how she would pull through. She had a staph infection around her heart and her pacemaker. Most people never come home from the hospital. God is good!! She came through the surgery and is doing well! Another highlight was traveling to Vancouver with my beloved husband! It was a wonderful week spent together!! I cherish those times! One downer to 2008 is that my basement got water in it the morning we left for Vancouver. Guess where all my craft stuff is?? Yep, in the basement. I've pretty much been MIA in the stamping scene since then. I've got it mostly put back together...now just to find time to stamp again! Oh how I miss it!! Thanks Julee!!

I finally learned how to use the manual controls on my DSLR this year - now I'm addicted to taking pictures!

Wow, I can't believe it has been two years already! Congratulations!! Let's see my favorite things of 2008. I have been very blessed in the stamping industry with some amazing opportunities. In my personal life, my favorite is my family's health and happiness. We've had some small issues, but everything turned out okay. For that, I am always grateful.

My favorite thing this year is kinda a selfish one--our daughter caught the bug--the stampin' and craftin' bug that is!! And now we have so much in common and are closer than ever because of this wonderful hobby that we all share. Love the blog candy. Thank you and congrats.

Wow this is great candy! Thanks for this great opportunity!

This year I fell in love with nestabilities and hotfix and hotfix stones. They are both so many times the perfect thing for a card!

I also love that this year for the first time a few of my cards have been published in a dutch magazine. :)

And the last thing that I discovered this year: participating in challenges!! It is so much fun to do a card sketch or limited supplies challenge, so I really want to go on with these in the next year.

Greetings from Holland and congratulations on the 2th birthday of your blog!

I discovered card making again. I stretched myself and came up with my own ideas for some cards and my cardmaking is improving. I have discovered a lot of new "toys" for cardmaking that wasn't around 5 years ago. I have loved them all so far. I think my favorite is my Cuttlebug. I haven't discoverd Copics yet but from reading these comments and yours I need to check them out.
My relationship with my children just keeps growing stronger.
The most important is that the chemo treatment for my husband's cancer has been working great.

Thanks for this opportunity to reflect and congrats on 2 years!

Julee, you're too kind :) I learned to love the Twilight series as well....I love how it gives me something in common with my students...we've had such great converstions about it. I'm in! Wow, to look back at 2008...we enjoyed 7 months in the States on our first furlough...got to meet some precious PSFs...went through a scary medical 'thing' with my husband, which he continues daily to deal with and as a family we are still adjusting to...also got to return to our ministry location in Indonesia and have the privilege of continuing to be a blessing here, even though we're going through a hard time. To frivolous stuff...getting to design for some of my favorite companies has been really cool! Love seeing my own stamp designs in rubber too. And blogging has brought me in contact with amazing people from all over the world, and given me a support system that has been such a blessing. Alright, you got me going.......! Hugs to you - blessings in the coming year.......

Probably the biggest thing I am thankful for is that on Dec. 15th I will be having surgery for a new knee.

Well, 2008 started out rough. I was having major problems at my job and was putting me in a funk.

It started looking up in April, I left this job and found another one. 5 months later I got the BEST news, I'm pregnant! After my husband and I tring for 4 years it finally happened! Our first baby is due in April and is a Boy. I can't wait!!!

Thanks for the chance to win!

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary this year...a huge milestone these days I think sometimes. My children are all healthy and doing things they love...I made a resolution last new year's to try to scrap/play in my craft room at least a little everyday, and I've come close. Great year all around. Thanks for the chance to win some awesome candy. (PS I also read the Twilight series...and loved the movie..can't wait for more.)

2008 has been an incredibly wonderful year...my dh retired from USN on Dec 31, 2007, so that set the tone! My best two weeks all year were end of October and beginning of November, when I applied for and made several design teams. I was one of the soloists in a musical w/ 3 churches during that time, and let me tell ya, I felt like such The Diva! I was on Cloud 9! I'm so grateful that God has blessed me with the joy of singing and stamping!

Hmmm, let's see: in 2008 my little baby ;) started school, my big girl started to play cello like she means it, our orchestra gave a couple of good concerts and ... I stopped playing Trafian and discovered stamps and Tria markers (blushing) ... It was a good year!

My stamping and crafting highlights this year were definitely getting my own Big Shot machine and all those lovely Cuttlebug embossing folders - and then along came nestabilities! WOOOHOOO!
And, crowning glory - being featured by Scrapbook.com! My blog was hit with a flurry of visitors and generous comments.
Hugs from sunny Cape Town!

Congratulations on your 2 year blog anniversary. I have had a wonderful year. My only grandchild turned one in March. I have watched him turn from a baby to a loving little boy. I have seen the world from a different point of view. He is full of fun and always has a smile on his face. He follows me everywhere. He is golden sunshine in this world of ours.
