Birthday Bubbles

This week's TCP Tuesday challenge is to make a birthday card. Well, I rarely turn down a chance to put Sprinkle in a party hat, so I was all over this challenge. Doesn't she just make you smile?

I've been lovin' on Tangerine Tango lately, and I reached for it again today. I started by stamping the Argyle stamp on white cardstock (using my Stamp-a-majig to line it up). Next I stamped Big Sprinkle and L'il Party Hat with Brilliance Black because I was told it worked well with Copics. Well, not for me - it smeared and bled, so I ended up having to go over most of the lines again with a detail black pen. Next I stamped the Bubbles all around the image and then colored with Copics. I stamped Happy Birthday in an Oval nestabilities tag and stamped the bubbles around this panel as well. I highlighted all the bubbles with a mixture of Dazzling Diamonds and Stampendous Ultrafine glitter and then also added some dots of glitter mixture in the Argyle background. The striped paper is from the DCWV All Dressed Up stack and the card base is Paper Accents cardstock.

Okay, back to shipping orders. I just needed a little stamping break for sanity! :)
Have a great day!

Julee! Brilliance is THE only ink that will work with Copics! You just need to let it dry or heat set it if your impatient like me. I have tried it all, and everything else has bled. I am not sure why it didnt work for you. Thats all that works for me!Kris

Julee....The card is adorable.. I use the ranger adirondack dye ink with my copics and it it the only one I have found that doesn't run and you don't have to heat set it. I have not had very good luck with the other inks with my copics...Lisa F.

I too have trouble with the Brilliance ink... even after heat setting. I find that the Ranger Adirondack dye ink works best (for me) and use that most often.

I ADDORE this card... I was going to ask how you make those bubbles look so sparkly and almost 3-D... but you answered it already. Thanks for the cool inspiration!

Love your card Julee! Great coloring!

I have found the best ink for coloring with Copics is Memento Tuxedo Black. It does not need to be heat set and it does not run or smear!!!

cute cute cute julee!!! i too have tried them all and i found memento is the only one that works for me (unless i use yellow - occasionally that will smear slightly). what i like with memento is that i don't have to heat set it. i'm shipping my little heart out too so i feel your pain :) but isn't it wonderful at the same time!!!
