So Sweet

Happy Tuesday! Today I have my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch for you. I wanted to use my new Tangerine Tango ink pad (thanks Lisa!) and thought I'd pull out So Many Scallops since I've barely used it and it's about to head to the big stamp retirement home in the sky.

I started by stamping the flower in Tangerine Tango and then punching out with my SU! scallop punch. Next I punched a 1/4" hole in the center and set a jumbo eyelet in the center with my Crop-a-dile. To give it a little sparkle I added an orange rhinestone in the opening of the eyelet. Next I focused on my horizontal panel. I knew I wanted to use the chocolate swiss dot pattern on the back of one of the Bella Rose papers, so I cut a strip and then took a piece of Tangerine Tango and scored two lines up top with my Scor-Pal to give it kind of a crimped effect. Next I made a scalloped border with my slit punch and glued it to the bottom of the piece of Bella rose and added some smaller rhinestones for sparkle. To finish off I used the "letterpress" or reverse embossing with ink technique using the Textile Cuttlebug folder and Tangerine Tango ink for the card base. I finished off with a Chocolate taffeta ribbon.

I've got some more birthday RAKS to share and some pics of the new toys hubby got me for my birthday, but my camera battery died before I was finished with the photo shoot, so they'll have to wait until tomorrow. Have a fantastic day everyone! :)

This is gorgeous! I really need to try that letterpress technique. I've seen people do it with chalk inks, but I don't have any (and honestly, don't need any). I thought there must be a way to do it with the SU pads, and you showed me there is! Woot! :) Love the colors you used too!

awesome card julee....love that letterpress technique! i've gotta try that today.

i had to show you the card i made using my newly arrived "thankful blossoms" set. i was trying to use it in a way that no one else had in the scs galleries, so i created butterflies from the actual flower blossoms. check it out and tell me if i'm crazy for loving the result! ;-)
