It's Thursday, and time for another Meet the Verve Divas challenge. This week our hostess with the mostess is this week's SCS featured stamper, Susan Liles, and she put out a challenge to use buttons on a project. Click here to read about the challenge and pepper Susan with get to know ya questions. More specifically, Susan challenged us to use AT LEAST 3 buttons on a project. However, being the multi-tasker that I am, I only half read the challenge, and so my sample card has only one button. Wonder if she'll let it slide - maybe she'll count the pearls as buttons? ;)
I don't know about you but I love collecting buttons. They're so pretty in a jar, all sorted by color, or mixed in together. But something about actually using them on a project makes me kind of shudder just a bit. Don't get me wrong - I love seeing them on the cards of "button whisperers", like Susan, Amy, and Laurie. They make buttons look cool, hip...awesome. But my button skills usually look like I made a card and then decided to throw a button on at the end. Well, maybe that's because it's not too far from what I really do! LOL
Anyhow, here's my "I threw a button on at the end to meet the challenge and then realized it still didn't meet the challenge" challenge card. :) It was also my attempt at two of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges from yesterday... watercoloring and one layer cards, neither of which are what I would consider my strong suits, but I still like my finished card. The card is pretty straight forward, so I won't bore you with all the step by step details. I used Thankful Blossoms and Filigree Fantasy and colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons. Finished off with Hero Arts pearls, a button, a couple rows of piercings and some Chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

Oh my gosh! I'm totally the same way about buttons! I will NOT use them unless it's like a baby card! LOL! so glad I'm not alone! This challenge would FORCE me to think outside the box...
Hi Julee!

Hugs,
Colleen
This is a scroll stopper, not because of the button (because like you I don't think to put them on my cards until after they are ... sent) but because of those pearls. They are wonderful, I love your placement and the layout is very nice. Thanks for sharing and Thanks for the inspiration.
