Masculine Thank You

Hi everyone! Today's going to be a quick post because I have to scoot out the door to go watch my little nephew this morning. The other day the Harlequin and Accessories set from Flourishes showed up on my doorstep (thanks Jan Marie!) and I didn't waste any time getting it all inky! When I first saw this background stamp, I thought of all the possiblities for masculine cards. You could go anywhere from a playing card theme to a rough and tumble rugged look just by changing the fill-ins and the colors used. So today I'm showing you my masculine thank you card. I don't make a lot of masculine cards. Hubby likes anything I make and isn't too picky, so I rarely need to make something that is truly hopped up on testosterone! LOL

I started by stamping the Harlequin background in Chocolate Chip craft ink on Brown Paper Bag paper by Paper Accents. I then used a prismacolor pencil and gamsol to fill in the space between the two lines. I stamped the diamond accessories in Night of Navy in the intersections. This piece is stitched with my Janome Sew Mini and then sponged with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. The image panel is stamped with stars from the Seeing Stars set in Chocolate Chip and the sentiment is from Fancy Florals Remixed (Re-releasing in photopolymer Feb. 10) and is stamped in Night of Navy. This panel is stitched and inked with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip inks and then I took my paper distresser to the edges of both panels. I stamped the larger textured star, cut it out and added it in the corner with a pop dot. I tied hemp around the paper bag panel and added some knots. The blue layer is Buckaroo Blue and is stamped with the same color ink randomly with the stars and then run through the Cuttlebug with the Squares folder to add some texture and dimension. Everything is matted to a Chocolate Chip card base.

Okay, hope ya like it. It was a fun card to make. Have a great day, peeps!
